Cultures and Races (Part 2)

Idan opened his eyes in the cave and spotted the goldorns who were staring at his body which had remained motionless for a while like they had been anticipating it.

*Ding* Congratulations, you have entered the sensory realm and gained 400 ounces of sensory energy.*

"I guess that I'll go see that Old Goldorn for more information," he thought.

Within the Western jungles of the southern continent, Harans from the Dimoa tribe stood out in an open field arranged in orderly lines while one Harans walked around the column screaming.

The Haran's in the lines heeded to the Haran's orders taking numerous and intensive push ups paired with other exercises.

Eventually nighttime came, and the Haran who spent the whole day shouting out orders now watched the fire burning in front of him while wielding a spear.

Suddenly he felt something pull him in as the entire night environment around changed to broad daylight with an haran standing in front of him.

"Great Grandfather” Hor immediately kneeled.

“Where am I?"

Himlo looked at him for a while before answering, "This is the intermediary realm, a place where I can communicate with you without having to make myself visible in the physical."

"But why have you summoned me here then?"

"To give you a series of tasks," Himlo replied.

"And what would these tasks be?" Hor asked while still kneeling.

"The instructions are simple. select the best out of your tribal warriors and give them each a marking of their choice."

"But why?" Hor probed.

"It's simple. These marks could give them more strength and power. However they must only be given to the strongest, the most versatile or useful from among your ranks. If not, then do not choose to give them these marks.''

"But I can't see these marks," Hor said again.

"It's simple," said Himlo as he closed the distance between himself and his descendant before touching his forehead. How's eyes glowed for a while then dimmed.

Within his memory were images of 6 distinct marks each having a meaning behind its structure, "These are good ancestors," He complimented.

"Good” Himlo’s smiled as his figure began to dim while Hor's vision blurred only for him to realize that he was back in the jungle all alone.

*Congratulations, you have been given 150 ounces of sensory energy and a new title called marker. With the marker title, you can design marks on your fellow tribesmen which will aid them and give them special features*

"That seems nice but what is sensory energy tho?" He thought.

"Oh well that is another question for another day.” He chuckled as he prepared himself to return to the tribe.

When morning came, a large number of Harans gathered at the hut of the tribe leader, a hut made from mud to resemble a capsule like shape with the roof being made entirely from dried leaves.

Eventually, Hor came out of it to meet his people and stood in front of them before saying, "I have news for you, one that could potentially increase our power, our opponents" he announced.

"Tell us!" The Harans chorused.

"I have only a few in mind who have overshadowed their peers in all areas of combat and today I am here to bestow these gifts upon them.”

“What gifts?” One Haran asked.

“Unique marks only to be bestowed upon those who have earned it.

As for the rest of you, there is still a chance to earn these marks."

He then placed his hand on the ground and took a leftover stick before using it to draw a picture of 6 marks given to him by Himlo before picking a group of people from the crowd while the others watched.

From that day forth a new practice known as mark giving was born.

The marks given to Hor worked by transferring physical energy to the warriors who could absorb them.

The marks gathered energy faster and infused them into the bodies of the Harans who used them making them even stronger than they initially were.

Back in Shawn's location,

*Ding* Congratulations you have earned 1,800 CP for completing the energy quests*

*Ding* Congratulations you have earned 1,200 CP for witnessing a new change in the evolution of beliefs, cultures and traditions.*

"Hmmm good one. I think that I should proceed with creating a new continent." Shawn said to himself while he looking at the map shown by the system before changing his mind, "On second thought, how about I place a chain of islands for a new race?”

He located the continents in the north, south and east and west (beast) continent. He decided to create a bunch of islands that were at the south of the eastern continent.

After creating the islands, He began wondering which race he could place there and thought of the races that had already been placed in the continent.

"System, can you show me the races in the world? It's hard to keep track, "

*Races

Goldorns - Northern Continent

Humans - Northern Continent

Elves - Northern Continent

Orcs - Northern Continent

Harans - Southern Continent.

Dwarves - Southern Continent.

Thorns - Southern Continent.

Mana Beasts - Western Continent.

"System, can I add a new race?" he asked.

*Yes. However since it isn't part of the quests for this rank then the next rank with the quest will have less issues to fill."*

He looked at the race's interfaces and noticed that only Kobolds and goblins were left.

"Can I make a new race?" he asked a second time, but changed the question slightly.

*No you can't, your world is still in rank 3 and not yet developed. Developed worlds have an higher amount of slots* The system replied.

"I'll leave those two races then. I have other plans for them" Shawn said.

"Also, I think that it's time to increase the world population," He added.

*You can increase the population of the world by using a population boom which will cost 6,000 CP*

"What 6,000CP!" Shawn exclaimed.

*Oh stop acting dumb, Money is to be spent unfortunately you can't store all your points cause they need to be. Hahaha*

"You are always trying to rip me off," he complained.

*And why are you always trying to act like a pauper*

"What are the benefits of this population boom, how does it work?" Shawn asked.

*As its name suggests, typically the birth rate could be double, triple or quadrupled for a century at minimum. Each level only increases the cost as well as how long the time increases.*

"So what am I paying for?" Shawn asked.

*Oh you're paying triple*

"Now I know that you are truly trying to rip me off,"

*Well I just calculated and gave you the most suitable one with the current world population.* The system replied.

"What if I wasn't?"

*Then you could always ask*

"Explain the costs to me" Shawn said.

*Double for one century is 3,000CP, Triple is 5,000CP, Quadruple is 7,000CP. With an Increase of 50 years adds 500CP*

"So cost wise you gave me Triple for 200 years"

*Yes!*

"I hate to say it, but it seems fair and like you read my mind" said Shawn before he proceeded to say "Initiate the population boom!" He said.

He heard the sounds of coins being withdrawn from in between his ears and saw his balance go from 15,975 CP to 9,975CP.

He looked at his quest bar and then the world info.

While scrolling through the quests he remembered that he hadn't completed the tasks of being addressed by the races.

"For the races in the northern continent I want to be called the Eye that watches Worlds and for the races in the western continent I want to be called the 'Being in the unknown'"

*Ding, Congratulations you have earned 400 CP for your contribution of deciding how you will be addressed*

"Why is it 400CP?"

*Because you only choose two names and not multiple, also it should have been 300 CP but the names are really long so an extra 100 CP was added*

"Who knew that the system could be so generous?"

*I am generous, but sometimes you don't know how to spend wisely*

"And here we go again with the insults,"

"I think that I should really get on with watching the other four races,"

“Logging host out of the world in 3...2...1"

Good thing that Shawn was prepared but when he woke up, he wasn't prepared for what he saw next.
