"Can you believe this is really happening?" Emma said, pacing backstage. "I mean, this is Lucia's big moment!"
Alex smiled. "I know. Our dear Lucia, all sophisticated and rocking the stage."
"I hope nothing goes wrong," Emma fretted. "Everything needs to be perfect!"
Jacqueline placed a hand on Emma's shoulder. "Don't worry, we've got this. We faced way scarier stuff with those spirits last year. This should be a piece of cake."
Just then, Lucia burst into the room, her face glowing with excitement. "Guys! The crowd is packed. I can't believe so many people showed up!"
"Are you nervous?" Alex asked.
"A little," Lucia admitted. "But mostly, I'm just so pumped! I've been waiting for this forever."
Rene wandered over with his trademark zen smile. "You're going to blow them away, Luce. Just relax and let the music flow."
