Chapter 20: I hate you Romeo !

She quickened her pace ready to confront him.

Trina caught up to Romeo in the lobby of the resort, her heels clicking on the marble floor. "Romeo, wait," she said, her voice firm but controlled.

Romeo turned to face her, a look of annoyance on his face. "What?" he snapped.

Trina's eyes flashed with anger. "What's going on with you?" she demanded. "Why are you being so rude and hurtful?"

Romeo shrugged, his expression unrepentant. "I'm just tired of pretending, okay?" he said. "I'm tired of pretending to be something I'm not, tired of pretending to care about you and your feelings."

Trina felt like she'd been punched in the gut. "What are you talking about?" she whispered.

Romeo's eyes were cold and hard. "I'm talking about our marriage, Trina. It's all just a sham, a way for me to get what I want. And what I want is not you."

As he barked her he realized that a few people passing by could hear them so he calmed down and held her hand.

" Let's go to our room !" He said and dragged her there.

Romeo closed the door behind them, his eyes never leaving Trina's face. "We need to talk about us," he said, his voice firm but controlled.

Trina's eyes flashed with anger. "There is no us," she spat. "Not after what you said downstairs."

Romeo's expression didn't change, but his eyes seemed to bore into Trina's soul. "I meant every word," he said, his voice dripping with conviction. "And I'm not sorry."

Trina felt a wave of rage wash over her. She took a step forward, her fists clenched at her sides. "You're a monster," she hissed.

Romeo raised an eyebrow, his expression unrepentant. "Maybe," he said. "But I'm your monster, Trina. And you're stuck with me."

Trina's eyes flashed with anger. "You're cruel and heartless, Romeo," she spat, her voice trembling with emotion.

"How can you say such terrible things to me?"

Romeo's smile never wavered. "Because it's the truth, Trina," he said, his voice cold and detached. "You're just too blind to see it."

Trina felt a wave of hurt wash over her. She took a step back, her eyes welling up with tears. "I hate you, Romeo," she whispered.

Romeo's eyes seemed to gleam with satisfaction. "Good," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "I'd rather you hated me than pretended to love me."

Trina's eyes blazed with fury. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?" she spat, her voice trembling with rage. "You're enjoying hurting me."

Romeo's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Maybe," he said, his voice low and husky. "Maybe I am."

Trina felt a wave of revulsion wash over her.

She turned to run, but Romeo was too quick. He caught her arm, spinning her back around to face him.

"You're not going anywhere, Trina," he growled, his eyes blazing with intensity. "Not until we've finished this conversation."

Trina struggled to break free, but Romeo's grip was too strong.

"Let me go!" she spat, her eyes flashing with anger.

Romeo's smile never wavered. "Not until you've heard what I have to say," he said, his voice low and menacing.

Trina's heart was racing with fear. She didn't know what Romeo was capable of, but she knew she didn't want to find out.

"Please," she whispered, trying to appeal to whatever humanity was left in him. "Just let me go."

Romeo's eyes seemed to gleam with amusement. "No," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "I don't think so"

Romeo's grip on Trina's arm tightened, his fingers digging deep into her skin.

Trina winced in pain, trying to pull away, but Romeo held fast.

"You're going to listen to me, Trina," he growled, his eyes blazing with intensity. "You're going to listen, and you're going to understand."

Trina's heart was racing with fear, her mind racing with thoughts of escape.

She knew she had to get away from Romeo, but she didn't know how.

Suddenly, Romeo pulled her close, his face inches from hers.

For a moment, they just stared at each other, their eyes locked in a fierce and passionate gaze. Romeo was too handsome to be so cruel like this.

Romeo also took this closeness to observe each feature on her face which seemed to attract him for that short moment.

The air around them seemed to vibrate with tension, the only sound the heavy breathing of the two combatants.

Trina's heart was racing, her pulse pounding in her ears.

For a moment, it seemed like time itself had stopped.

The world around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, suspended in a sea of anger and passion.

Then, without warning, Romeo's eyes seemed to flash with anger, and he whispered, "You are just my wife in names,Trina. But in my eyes you will be never be a wife ."

He concluded and released her.
