Chapter -1: Not considered humans

"Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" a girl with purple hair woke up . She was still shivering and soaked in sweat. She was still thinking about it. Everything felt so real. But magic, that's not real!

She sat down , her head touching her knee and She closed her eyes. She was so scared. Its truth, the very truth of her life. Occasionally She had this nightmare, something She can't say to anyone. But today it was clearer than any time.It just made her feel that incident once again. No matter how much time passes, She won't think. She would be able to get over it. It changed her life forever.

"Chirp…chirp"

It was already dawn. The sky was a bit lighted and the purple moon was not to be seen any more. The yellow ones were also fading. Even though She felt alone, She was not alone. Mattresses were laid side by side and young girls of her age were sleeping . A total of 12 young girls laid there. The room was small and had only one window, quite suffocating for twelve people, but what else could they do except for adjusting. All the girls over here have no place to go. It's a moti Shelter, where young girls could make a living and save a good amount for the future by making motis.

Actually it's still confusing. She mean what are motis and what Shelter? right? Before anything lether first say that She am not an orphan. No. She never was an orphan, it's just that She am lost and reality is that She didn't even know whether She could go back home or not. Could She ever see her mother , Aloo Chakravarty, again making fish curry and rice in the kitchen and waiting with patience and a warm smile when she eats. her papa , Brij Chakravarty, who adored me. Would She ever be able to see her younger brother , Biltu Chakravarty, again? Him fighting for no reason and asking her to do his projects. He was in class 6 when She last saw him in the second time line. Well She was a university student back then and now She am only eleven years old. So confusing right. Even She was confused or rather felt like an idiot. She felt like a mad person, unable to understand anything. She cried and cried but nothing changed. And that's when She realised it's her reality now and She can't ignore it. She was depressed but her family became her support. Though they did not experience it like me, staying with them made her strong enough to go through all the hurdles of life once again. Life basically became an easy piece of cake for me. She meant like She literally knew what was going to happen next and the difficult huddles of her life were like nothing. Everything was going fine suddenly one day her life took another turn. Something beyond her imagination. Everything changed the day father 's distant relative, Mr. Eric Weaver visited us. It was something that didn't happen in the previous timeline. He was an Englishman while theyare a middle class Indian Family. He claims their great grandfather had two sons, one who went to England during British rule in India and settled over there. Well, She was a bit interested in his story after all it's something like the forgotten past of their family. But who knew that this curiosity and interest would have made her life upside down. And now She doesn't even know what to do. She am so afraid to be alone. Even though She am mature inside since She had lived as an adult once She still cannot get over this fear.

Well from all the information She has collected so far, it seems the place where She is living is named Akhadelphia. It is basically a territory. Well here territory is equivalent to the term country on Earth. But it can be compared to a continent as well. There are altogether seven territories and one central territory. Each territory is like a big island surrounding a central territory named Kasah. Well this is what She literally understands according to her information. Though She had no Idea how seven islands could surround one island in a planet that is round. Nor do She understand how there can be two moons here, not to mention the peculiar colour it, that is yellow and purple.

Here women are considered as treasure. But that doesn't mean, young girls like Aavya would have the same treatment. they're not even considered a living thing until they are of age thirteen. Now why is that, its all because the majority of them die before being thirteen. Yes out of these twelve girls here, including her, only three to five are expected to survive till the age of thirteen. Strange right. All the girls including Aavya knew this fact and all they could do is nothing. It was hard for Aavya to accept this fact. She was from earth, for her this kind of things were nothing but barbaric and uncivilised. But after a year of staying even she started to feel helpless and accepted it as a fate. She had seen two young girls die, one six years and the other nine. It was a traumatic experience for her. When she asked the caretaker, Sean, an old man, to call for a doctor, all he said was, "its normal, what's the need of a doctor here?" . The casual way he answered made Aavya vomit, afterall, she couldn't understand how anyone could say a young girl dying is normal.

With time Aavya started to feel like a madman. They had a fixed time schedule that they were following since they came here. Aavya was mature from inside, so she could withstand this kind of torture, but what about the other girls. It was like they had become ghosts, no will ,no love, no happiness. They are spending their lives here with no hope. Aavya could swear all the other girls had already become mental patients. Only two young girls, one 12 years and 8 months and the other 12 years and 11 months are in their right mind. It has been a year since Aavya came here but she never had a conversation with those two.

"I think you are going to be the next, after us"- suddenly one of the two girls said, looking at her ,one day.

"What next, ah…"- Aavya stammered. After not speaking for a long time , her own voice felt so alien to her. Again she doesn't know their name even.

" Kylie, and what I mean is, I think you are going to be the next survivor after us." - Kylie said as if its a matter of fact.

Aavya didn't respond. She had no Idea what to say. She could see no emotion in Kylie's eyes . She didn't even hesitate saying such cruel words. She literally means still nine girls are going to die.

" Only those who don't lose sanity, live.., become living, considered human"- said the other girl.

Aavya still didn't respond. It was a trauma for her. She even being an adult inside had difficulty to think about what this little girls are speaking so casually.

Tears rolled down her eyes. How could they be so cruel?

" Now don't cry, or else you would also become insane like them.", Kylie said with a shrug.

Till now Aavya always admired these two for their willpower and staying strong even here. But today she could no longer admire them. They were like venomous snakes spitting poison to her.

"Do you even know what you are saying? You are speaking of life and death." Aavya muttered.

" I think we judged her too quickly, she is still so emotional lily", Kylie spoke to lily , once again completely Aavya. Then they kept chatting among themselves, completely forgetting about Aavya who was still standing in front of them.

Aavya stood there like a statue looking at them. Tears kept rolling down her eyes.

All she could think was, are they even qualified to be considered humans, if they have no emotions.

Strange right.
