Chapter 265 Mutual Probe

"You guys are?"

The next afternoon, as Carter walked out of the temporary terminal at Atlanta Airport, he immediately spotted a sign with his name on it. Interestingly, the person holding the sign wasn't the usual Caucasian face but an Asian one!

"Hello, are you Mr. Carter Blake?!"

The Asian young man holding the sign seemed questioning, but his tone was confident. As he put away the sign, he earnestly said:

"I'm Toyota Akio, the interpreter for this meeting!"

"Hello, and your name, with Toyota..."

As Carter shook hands with the other person, he asked while walking.

"Haha, what a coincidence! I'm currently working at an American investment bank, and I was just temporarily hired by Toyota to be the interpreter this time! Plus, I wanted to come myself, mainly to meet you!"

"Thank you! Isn't it a bit of a hassle to make a special trip just to meet me? Besides, it's my honor to be noticed by big investment banks like yours!"

Seeing this Japanese named Toyota Akio, who was running back and forth to pick him up and even took the initiative to open the car door for him, Carter, who had been annoyed by quite a few Japanese people, felt much better and couldn't help but joke.

This guy has a good eye! Good at networking!

"Oh, not at all, I'm not a big shot at an investment bank. And your company, HT, has tremendous potential! Not just me, I've heard many VCs are interested too!"

Sitting properly in the front passenger seat and instructing the driver to start the car, Toyota Akio spoke affably.

"Really? Your insight is quite sharp. Can you tell me which investors are interested in my company now?"

HT being eyed by capital was no surprise to Carter.

Just like Jim offering a valuation of $200 million, rushing into the game. Although this company was newly established, with its mature supply system and exploding revenue fundamentals, whether looking at market potential or business completeness, this company could easily outperform its fellow startups. Compared to many companies with just a business plan, HT, which already has a complete system and positive revenue, can attract not only VCs but also private equity funds, the PEs, personally entering the scene.

Even if you don't know Toyota Akio's background, Carter is certain that this person has a strong connection with Toyota Motor Corporation. Therefore, after asking new questions, Carter still pretended to be indifferent on the surface, but secretly paid attention to Toyota Akio's reaction.

"I don't know the specifics, but I have a rough idea. I'm with Toyota Motor Company's people here in Georgia for several days now, and the name I heard most around here is yours."

"And the only construction company nearby is your DOG Construction, a big company with more than 1,700 construction workers. If we can cooperate with construction of the factory nearby, I think it would be a good thing for Toyota Motor. You make money, and Toyota has it easier!"

"Secondly, perhaps they hope to leverage your influence locally to take care of their factories more. I believe with your help, the Toyota Motor factory in Georgia can operate more smoothly and securely. They don't have to bother to solve some annoying little troubles that may continue to arise."

While Carter was probing Toyota Akio, the latter was also trying to figure out Carter's intentions. For a mature company like Toyota, they certainly wouldn't be afraid of some local chaos.

But if they had to personally solve every little problem, it would undoubtedly be a waste of resources. Apart from reducing work efficiency, it's of no benefit.

Toyota Akio had discussed with his father. If Carter was willing, Toyota didn't mind giving him some benefits. For example, handing over the construction of the factory to his DOG Construction in exchange for a stable production environment in the future.

Listening to the other party constantly referring to "Toyota Motor", Carter always felt something was off. But considering the Japanese identity of the other party, even if he had nothing to do with Toyota Motor, as an interpreter, he wouldn't be surprised to hear this information.

Perhaps the only loophole or the point that made Carter feel confused was why the other party was so easily telling him all this information?

"Haha, you're flattering me. Mutual benefit and mutual profit, I will definitely do it. Actually, in this matter, it should be us Americans thanking you. If you can come to Georgia to establish a factory, it would be a lifesaver for our unemployed people here! As an American, a citizen of Georgia, wherever I can help, I will do it without hesitation!"

Things that are not clear, it's better not to think too much about them. Anyway, the formal meeting is only two days away, and no matter what Toyota Motor's intentions are, sooner or later, the truth will come out!

With courteous responses to Toyota Akio, the conversation gradually shifted from the factory project to other aspects as the car approached the hotel where Toyota Akio was staying.
