As Ren allowed himself to float downwards into the seemingly endless pool of lava, the thought suddenly came to mind.

Was it her...Ruby?

Or, was it, by a very small chance, Irene?

Those two were the only fire mages who could have created this pool of lava, so it had to be one of them.

Or, perhaps his body simply had the ability to resist lava?

No...something important like that would have been mentioned in his stats menu.

Then, it hit him.

What if this wasn't lava?

There would be no valid reason that Ren should be able to see through lava as its thickness was far too great.

If he could see through lava, then he should be able to see through walls and other materials...but he can't.

What's something related to lava that Ren can stay in infinitely without being hurt and see through perfectly?

Water.

He wasn't in lava...but water.
