CHAPTER 4

Outside Green Life Hospital, three black Rolls-Royces halt at the entrance of the hospital, two of the Rolls-Royces open at the same time, the Rolls-Royce at the front and the one at the back.

Four men dressed in black suits came out from each of the Rolls-Royces, one of the eight men approached the Rolls-Royce in the middle and opened the back door.

A tall man also dressed in a black suit came out, but his suit was more exquisite than the rest, his gray hair fell to his shoulder, and he was putting on a dark glass that completely shielded his eyes.

"Have you located the room"

The man who opened the door nodded repeatedly.

"Yes, I have, and everything has been arranged"

"Then, let's go"

The gray-haired man walked inside the hospital, and four men followed him from behind. Nobody was seen inside the hospital, so they moved to the upper floor where Tessa was being kept. The man stopped close to the door, while one of his men opened the door for him.

Tessa's eyes moved to the door as soon as it opened, it had only been minutes since she made the call, yet her father was already here.

Tessa stood up because she was still sitting on the floor.

"Dad"

She managed to voice out.

Tessa's father, Mateo, didn't say a word, he was static on his spot, but his dark glasses were reflecting the bandages on Tessa's face.

Tessa's eyes moved to the floor when her father didn't respond to her, she knew she was wrong here, she left home and never came back, she even got married, it had been three years already, and there was no way her dad would not be angry with her.

She wanted to say something when one of the men stepped close to her and covered her face with a handkerchief.

Tessa's vision went blurring and she crumbled to the floor. Mateo stared at her for a while before his attention moved to the document on the table, he flipped through the document before he dropped it back. He turned heading to the door without looking at Tessa again.

*

David frowned as he opened the door. He was holding three papers in his hand. Tessa would get nothing from the divorce, so he believed she would try to make a scene. He came here with a check of a hundred thousand dollars, if she doesn't accept, then she could go to hell!

This would be his compensation for the three years she had been with him, his grandfather was already at death's door when he hurried to get married to Tessa, so he could get a large portion of his inheritance, who would have thought the old man would recover and even spent a year before he finally died.

He never planned to marry Tessa for more than a month, but she was lucky to have these three years.

She lived the life of a big woman for these three years. That alone was enough, but he would give her some money, because of what happened today. He planned to divorce Tessa within the week, but she stubbornly ruined everything.

David gazed at the bed, only then did he notice that Tessa was gone. his heart missed a beat, Tessa had run away, the contract would expire ten days from now, and she probably went into hiding.

SHIT!

David left in a hurry, he called his mom along the way.

"Tessa is gone!"

He hurried to the director's office. David was stunned when he heard that some people came to the hospital to discharge Tessa, they claimed to be her family.

David's face darkened, he had never seen Tessa's family before, Tessa never talked about her family, he assumed that they were local farmers from the countryside.

Why would he care anyway, they were surely poor people.

"Can I have their details? I want to see the security footage. These people might be kidnappers, why didn't you call me or my mother, this is wrong!"

David was boiling inside, what if he didn't find Tessa?

The director's face went deadpan.

"We can't reveal any personal details they left behind, and our security cameras were down at the time they came, we are still working on it, most of the footage today was deleted, including the Tessa incident"

David felt like screaming, he couldn't understand what the director was saying.

"Are you making sense here, can you just listen to yourself"

The director's eyebrows pushed together.

"I don't have to, now if you would please leave my office, I have other people to attend to"

David found himself leaving the director's office, and he slammed the door shut, what nonsense was this?

He came out and his mom sent him a text message.

[I am in Tessa's room]

David came to Tessa's room with a down expression.

"How do we find her"

He entered the room fully only to see his mom in a happy mood.

"You sounded like she didn't sign the document"

David's eyes widened when he heard the document, he forgot about it, did Tessa sign the document?

He hurried to the document on the table. Tessa signed the document.

Tessa had agreed to the divorce.

David's sad expression vanished, it was replaced with a bright smile. He thought Tessa ran away, not knowing she signed the document and left.

"I told you she had no choice, she knew she had no choice"

Penelope placed her hands on her son's shoulder.

"Now you can marry Olivia and carry our family to a new height"

David's cheeks moved but it slowly went down, he wondered why Tessa signed the document without fighting or demanding anything.

Did she mean everything she said this morning, so she was mad, just because she saw him kissing another girl?

He dropped the document back on the table, Tessa was no doubt a beautiful woman, tall and elegant but she came from a poor background, she would add no significant value to his life, as a businessman he needed to marry from an equal family like his or a powerful one so the business could continue to flourish.

Over the years, Tessa did everything possible to seduce him, but he didn't fall for it, because when a child gets involved, it would be difficult to divorce Tessa then.

Tessa probably thought that way, that was why she was trying to, what a shameless hag.

To climb up the ladder he needed somebody of great status, not some low-life bumpkin girl.

Olivia would take him to a great height.
