CHAPTER 13

The music stopped and everyone straightened up, the dance came to a close and so did the event.

Tessa and Klaus were in the middle of the gathering, and once more they stole the spotlight.

They would've applauded Klaus and Tessa for the remarkable dance, but given what happened a while ago, they could only look on in hate, jealousy, and other negative emotions.

Tessa couldn't help but smile.

"I thought you said you have never danced before"

Klaus bowed 90 degrees and kissed Tessa on her right hand.

"I am a quick learner"

Tessa wondered if she should believe Klaus's words or not, clearly she didn't believe him, he was even better than her, and she started dancing when she was five.

She smiled brightly.

"I had a nice day today, it's all thanks to you, Mr. Walker"

Klaus straightened up.

"Thanks for making this low-rank personnel day glorious"

Tessa nodded to Klaus's words, she gestured to the doorway.

"I should take my leave. Goodbye, Mr Walker"

She turned leaving without waiting for Klaus's response, perhaps she feared staying any longer would make her do something stupid or crazy.

She didn't expect him to be such a good dancer, his movements were flawless, and at some moment, everybody stopped to watch them. She felt like a queen in his presence.

Tessa exterminated her thoughts away when she got to the down floor, Klaus was just a private, his rank was the lowest in the military, and she shouldn't be thinking about him.

Her target today was somebody of great status, her father would be disappointed in her when he found out that she ditched a king of war for a private, but he wouldn't know what happened here, she would be the one to tell him.

No way she would marry someone who wanted to take advantage of her like a little child with no brain.

Tessa came out of the building, she spotted Jeremy standing close to their limo, and his words flashed to her mind. She had to marry somebody of great status if she wants to bring the family back to its number one position, she would definitely marry someone of great importance. She would find a way.

Jeremy wanted to open the door when somebody suddenly opened it for Tessa.

"Goodbye, Miss Wood"

Klaus opened the door for Tessa.

Tessa was flabbergasted, she didn't notice Klaus at all, she had no idea he was following her, and she didn't see him when he walked past her, she was lost in thoughts.

Tessa couldn't help but smile.

"I hope we see again, Mr Walker"

"Perhaps. We might meet again. Miss Wood"

Klaus closed the door with a smile that covered his eyes. His attention moved to Jeremy, Jeremy was glaring at him, he saw everything and he did not know why Tessa rejected King of War Alexander for a mere private.

Jeremy walked away with an ugly expression, he entered the driver seat and drove off.

Klaus watched the limousine leave, he had the feeling Tessa was looking at him, and the feeling made his smile brighter.

He faced his home direction, he calmly walked on the footpath, his car was parked a little bit far from the hotel entrance.

Klaus was walking past a dark alley when a lady's voice was heard from inside the dark alley.

"I never knew you had such a bright smile, old man Marshall and your father would be very happy, perhaps they should be expecting a daughter-in-law within the next few days"

A lady dressed in a white military uniform emerged from the darkness.

She was almost as tall as Klaus, but Klaus was a little bit taller, she had long red hair that reached to her shoulder, her face was white, and so was her skin, it was somehow glowing.

Klaus was surprised to see Emma, he was a little bit excited, to be sincere, he was excited and he forgot his awareness, or perhaps the woman had drastically improved on her stealth mode.

"So you came here to spy on me instead, here I thought you were truly going to attend the party, it's not a bad thing if you find someone, Emma. You are a woman, and you need somebody in your life, even if you are a Goddess of war"

Emma frowned but her expression quickly changed to a poker one. She stepped closer to Klaus.

"Well, I have all the time in the world, unlike you, your time is limited. I wonder how old man Marshall would react once he found out that you dressed this way to the party, and you even opened a car door for a woman. He would be so horrified"

Emma stopped close to Klaus. Klaus's expression was deadpan now.

"I hope you know where your loyalty lies"

His deadly eyes fell on Emma, and Emma immediately bowed her head.

"Yes, master"

Klaus walked past her and approached the mercedes maybach ahead.

Emma turned to face Klaus.

"Do you have feelings for her"

She was happy that Klaus was back to his old self, all the years she had known him, she had never seen him smile this brightly before, she hated that woman for making him smile, and even allowing him to open the car door for her.

'Who does she think she is'

If only she knew who Klaus was, she wouldn't dare to breathe in his presence.

Klaus opened his car door.

"Tell the old man that I won't be coming home for the time being. He should give me a month to find his daughter in law, and if I don't come home with a woman within a month, I will marry whoever he chooses for me"

Klaus faced Emma.

"I would be settling down in this city, meanwhile get me information on the Wood family, and please don't follow me around again"

"Okay, master!"

Emma immediately bowed 90 degrees, if only he knew that she wasn't spying on him, she just wanted to stand by his side as a bodyguard, but she wouldn't be able to do that because she was the Goddess of war, she would only draw unwanted attention to him, and the master hate unwanted attention.
