Chapter 10: The Beast Overflow

Screeeeeen… A terrifying sound was heard, causing everyone present to tremble with fear. Looking towards the source of the sound, they could see a dozen beasts in the distance approaching with an oppressive aura that made one feel suffocated.

"How is this possible? Are those Sombraelus beasts?" one of the guards exclaimed.

Seeing the beasts getting closer, the guards recognized the species and couldn't help but tremble and feel their entire bodies bristle, while their blood boiled as if their very being couldn't coexist with these creatures.

"Impossible, impossible!" were the exclamations. "These beasts should have been exterminated by the supreme beings!"

The guards present couldn't believe these beasts still existed. In the first wave of beasts that overflowed from the spatial fissures across Earth, these were among the most abundant. Named Sombraelus, these beasts were known for their shadowy and destructive nature. Where these beasts overflowed, only destruction and massacre remained, whether of humans or any animal species. It was one of humanity's darkest moments, barely able to resist thanks to prototype weapons developed in that era of anguish. However, they could hardly breathe due to their insect-like reproduction rate. That's why they were the most feared at that time until beings with incredible powers emerged and massacred these beasts until they were exterminated.

"Maybe that's what was known in some ancient books until now," one of the guards commented, feeling a mix of fear and adrenaline upon seeing the Sombraelus beasts approaching. "We've never felt this way facing other species."

As the beasts got closer and their numbers increased, the captain and vice-captain issued a series of orders to the guards to prepare for battle. The formation needed to change since the previous one only served to conceal and temporarily defend, and the previous consumption had been terrible.

Lu Min-ji, who was activating her power enhancement mode, narrowed her eyes at the sight of the beasts and, without hesitation, took out some precious pills and threw them to Captain Kazuki. The captain was momentarily surprised upon seeing the vial of pills, but immediately, upon picking up the vial and seeing the contents, he couldn't help but exclaim in astonishment. These pills were a privilege only the elites in the great families could obtain, and seeing the quantity, he was pleasantly surprised. Just as he was about to ask, he heard Lu Min-ji's voice ordering him to quickly distribute the pills to everyone present and prepare the formation of two attack symbols.

Captain Kazuki swallowed his words and immediately began distributing the pills to those present. Upon receiving them, one of the guards was stunned.

"Am I dreaming? Is this what I think it is?"

He wondered, looking at the pill in his hand, never imagining in his wildest dreams he would obtain such pills. It was a precious pill with veins on the surface, known as the Renascence Power Pill. This famous pill among the great families allowed the user not only to recover the power consumed but also to achieve incredible progress in their realm. Although it didn't allow entry into a new realm, it brought the user closer to the peak of their current realm. Without thinking twice, he swallowed it, knowing he needed to recover his power to survive this unexpected crisis.

A glow began to emerge from everyone present as they consumed the Renascence Power Pill, including Lu Min-ji and her little sister. Both needed to recover their power as soon as possible and improve their current realm. In Lu Min-ji's case, she needed it to utilize the new advancement in her combat suit to withstand the growing power within her.

"Roar!" An ear-shattering roar snapped some guards out of their recovery. Looking at the source of the sound, they felt goosebumps upon seeing a creature rising slowly in the distance. They couldn't help but lose their voices upon seeing what emerged from the center of the beast herd approaching them. And to top it off, what was atop that beast gave them an unprecedented chill.

"It's… it's the leader of the Sombraelus!" one of the guards shouted, his voice trembling. "We're in serious trouble!"

Before they could say anything else, they saw a claw about 50 meters long descending towards them with terrifying power, ready to crush everyone present…
