Cindy's acting intensified as she began to cry her heart out, like a little girl who had been wronged. She repeatedly wiped her tears while glancing at Sebastian, hoping he would finally look at her.
Fortunately, her wish came true as Sebastian slowly shifted his gaze back to Cindy. But there was no smile on his face.
"Did my wife say that?" Sebastian asked. "Because I'm not sure if she can be so cunning."
"Yes!" Cindy nodded emphatically to appear more convincing. She pointed at Winter and added, "I don't know what's wrong with her, but she tried to pit me against Iris, even though we are on good terms. Iris helps me familiarize myself with the work, too!"
Of course, Sebastian didn't believe what she was saying. He already knew about her viciousness from his previous life.
But before he shut her down for the second time, he checked Winter first and saw that his wife was astonished by Cindy's illogical claim.
