Where am I??
What's happening??
Why am I unable to control anything??
"Are you still immersed in this?" Suddenly, a woman's voice echoed from behind, jolting me from my reverie. I turned, but it wasn't my own volition; my body seemed to have a mind of its own.
"Yes, I'm on the verge of unlocking it..." Abruptly, a frantic, low voice escaped me, not of my own making but belonging to the previous inhabitant of this body.
This is his memory...
"So, how many new words have you grasped today?" Her face remained obscured, denying me a clear view. It felt as though her features were intentionally shrouded from me.
"Not many, but I've deciphered twenty new ones..." I replied, a smile forming on my lips as I gazed towards her.
"You have an impressive intellect. I can't fathom how you unravel their meanings so effortlessly..." Her words carried a hint of admiration, even though her face remained hidden. Yet, my body's response hinted at her significance to the person I now inhabited.
"One day, I'll master them all and wield this knowledge for the greater good..." Confidence laced my tone as I spoke, prompting her to turn towards me with a smile that I could sense despite her obscured visage.
"Yes, I have faith in you..." Her reassurance was barely uttered before the scene shifted once more, engulfing the girl before me like a fading memory's mist.
As the scene shifted, I found myself still in the familiar room, but an eerie change had taken hold. My chest tightened with a heavy ache, and a sense of emptiness engulfed me like a suffocating fog.
Drop...
A tear escaped my eye, tracing a path down my cheek to fall upon the wooden floor below. My gaze fixated on the book before me, filled with a tormenting sorrow and despair.
"Why?!" I cried out in anguish, my voice echoing off the walls. Hatred surged within me, directed towards the book that lay tauntingly in front of me.
"It was You Who Desired this..." A chilling, distorted voice emanated from the book, sending shivers down my spine.
Suddenly, a crimson Magic Circle materialized beneath the book, pulsating with dark energy.
With a heavy thud, a hand emerged from the Circle, its grotesque appearance sending a wave of terror through my entire being. From the depths of the Circle, a humanoid figure emerged, exuding an aura of pure malevolence.
What the heck is that thing...
What manner of creature was this?
A very dangerous feeling took over my body; I could feel it inside my whole body. My body was telling me to run, to hide, to stay away from this creature.
A being who has descended from Hell, a creature of pure evil, he who holds a sinister smile on his face. A creature with a very distorted face and a body which would make anyone flinch in disgust and fear.
The Devil...
Before me stood the Devil himself, his sinister smile casting a shadow over my soul. His twisted visage instilled revulsion and fear, paralyzing me with dread.
"YOU DEMON!!!" I screamed, a futile attempt to defy the overwhelming darkness that loomed before me.
You are just a insignificant ant..." He spoke, barely understandable, still his words sent shivers down my back, and my whole body froze in its place.
"What have she done to deserve that? What have this world done so wrong?" I asked while looking at his eyes, which should have eyes there, but it was just two empty holes staring right back at my soul.
"You sought Knowledge, and I granted your desires. In return, I claimed what you held dear..." The Demon's words dripped with malice, his twisted grin sending shivers down my spine.
"Return the Knowledge! I beg of you... Just return her to me..." Tears streamed down my face, mingling with the despair that consumed me.
" The Contract is absolute..."
"...Your GOD Has Forsaken you... kekekekeke" The Devil's laughter reverberated through the room, filling me with a chilling sense of dread.
"Kill me then... I don't want to stay Alive Now..." I spoke with a Deviated tone, I can tell Something bad has happened with me.
"You shall suffer and perish alone in this forsaken realm...kekekekeke" With those ominous words, the Devil vanished into the darkness, leaving me to grapple with my despair.
What had transpired? I was left bewildered, struggling to make sense of the chaos that had unfolded before me.
As the surroundings shifted once more, I found myself lying on the bed, clutching the book in my trembling hands.
But this book, it's Different than the one I saw in the other memory, and it was the Same one that had Drank my blood.
What now?
I lay there in silence, holding the book in my hand without saying anything; my eyes, they were hollow, they had lost their will to fight.
The pure Evil was much stronger in this case. The Good has lost in this world.
"Just kill yourself..." I whispered to the empty void, my words echoing in the desolate chamber.
Who's he talking with?? There is no one here...
"This world is beyond saving; the Evil has taken over everything. The Jayden has lost its colony...." With a sense of grim resolve, I rose from the bed, my gaze fixed upon the mirrored cabinet.
He's talking to himself... no, he's talking to me...
"You won't be able to protect anyone... But still, if you want to save them....." With a deep breath and emotionless eyes, he imparted his final words.
"Seek out the scattered fragments of the lost Gods, scattered throughout this unforgiving world. Use them to vanquish the Devil king..."
"Avoid the darkness, conceal yourself in shadows from the shadows. Seek out others bearing the same Mark as you. Forge a nation strong enough to rival any nation..."
"And if Some day you Cross paths with her... tell her 'I'm sorry'."
What is he talking about??
"The time has come to return to the present... Remember, you're this world's last hope... Be the Hero I never could have been, the hero one this world could depend on..."
Those were his last words, and suddenly everything became dark as if nothing has existed in this world.
Suddenly a memory fragment flashed inside my head, and as if a closed Dam had been opened, Memory of the owner of this body started to flood inside my mind.
Heck, what was that??
I woke up and looked here and there; this time I had control of my body. I was still in the same room, and nothing had changed other than my brain contained a bunch of Different memories of someone else.
I tried to stand up but felt very dizzy; my blood was on the floor spreading all over the place. I held my wounds which somehow had stopped bleeding due to the lack of blood inside my body.
So, My name is Joseph Henryson.
Recalling my name in this world, along with memories of my past life.
I have a diploma and mastered in different languages, history, geography, astronomy, magic engineering, and spell casting.
That's quite a big list; this guy had achieved in his lifetime.
This world is a fantasy world with magic and everything; you would like but the problem is this world is in a fucked-up situation.
The Jaydens, who are also known as Humans with the ability to cast magic, had lost their battle against Devils. The natural Mana System of this world has been completely depleted, and because of that, this world has been fucked up.
The terminal of other worlds has been opened, and the creatures of Pure Evil have descended on this world. The world has lost its glow, and the creatures of night hunt the last left Jaydens, who are weak due to the insufficient amount of Mana.
That only means one thing, I'm fucked up. The world beyond is not perfect for Jayden's to live. And these Pandora's, which are known as the creatures who hunt them, are scary too. No one has ever seen them because if you see one, you're dead.
I looked down on the book in my hands. Initially, there are two books in this world like that, one that has caused so much chaos in this world, and the other one is this.
Heck, the Mana supply is over; that means the God of this world no longer exists here because it's his duty to Reserve the mana back.
I touched the book and felt its hard cover on my hand as I opened it. I saw those Same texts written in some kind of Different languages, way out of the understanding of a normal human, but somehow this time, I can understand them very easily.
