Considering the information gained from the laboratory that was one of the branches of the Demon God Church, Redin can see why Rodwell hates them.

Perhaps Rodwell was subjected to unspeakable horrors after he left the lab and went to the main headquarters.

To some extent, he can understand Rodwell's anger.

If that were all there was to it, he could have been persuaded or cajoled into becoming an ally, but Rodwell's anger was directed beyond the Demon Church and right at the Goddess of Creation.
