Chapter 168

The prison was eerily silent as Alex strode through the dimly lit corridors. He had grown accustomed to the constant noise—the clanging of metal doors, the shouts of inmates, the hum of machinery. But today, the silence felt heavy, like a tangible presence pressing down on him. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.

Alex made his way to Cell Block D, where he had been informed of several mysterious disappearances. As he approached the cells, he noticed that many were empty. The records indicated that the prisoners should have been there. He could feel the tension in the air, the fear and uncertainty of the remaining inmates.

He tried to call for backup, but his radio only crackled with static. Frustrated, he headed to the guard station, where he found his colleagues gathered. Their faces were pale and tense.
