Chapter 46- Mind Your Fuckin' Business

Polly felt trapped in the midst of what was happening right now, except, she had no idea what their discussion centered on. She was still reeling from the shock of Rafael pulling her onto his lap without any warning, leaving her too flustered and intimidated to move.

She felt like finding Nemo in the presence of bigger sharks.

To distract her mind, she focused her attention on Elizah. The woman smiled at her, but the smile certainly didn't reach her eyes, and Polly mindfully dragged her gaze elsewhere. She was already mentally cataloging the people to avoid during her stay here: the strange demon who had barged in on her this morning, the intimidating guy at the guest house, and now, Elizah.

Each encounter heightened her sense of unease, making her feel increasingly out of place in this unfamiliar world, however, Rafael's presence shielded her like a cloak–it was strange, but she felt confident in his presence.
