Echo Sphere

Silas followed Nyx'ara into her modest dwelling, his eyes scanning the interior for anything that might serve as a suitable vessel for Kaelix's soul. The bubble-home was cramped but cozy, filled with an assortment of scavenged items and makeshift furniture.

Nyx rummaged through a pile of oddities in the corner, her tail swishing back and forth as she searched. After a moment, she turned back to Silas, holding something in her clawed hands.

"Will this work?" she asked, presenting the object to Silas.

Silas's eyes widened in surprise. In Nyx's hands was a small, crystalline orb, no larger than a baseball. Its surface glowed, pulsing faintly like a heartbeat.

"What is it?" Silas asked, reaching out to take the orb.

Nyx placed it gently in his palm. "It's a remnant from the upper levels. We call them echo spheres. They can capture and replay sounds, even voices."
