Chapter 10 He Stopped

Since her parents had departed, Elaine often found solace in sitting alone on the windowsill, gazing at the majestic mountains on the horizon. The moon would occasionally peek through the clouds, illuminating every dark corner with its radiant light.

She couldn't quite explain why, but when Elaine looked at the moon, she felt a complex emotion that seemed to stem from her werewolf instincts. Despite her attempts to come to terms with her current situation, deep down she knew that the moment she stepped into the castle, her life was no longer in her control.

She had once hoped that her life would continue on without any worries, even if such twists and turns came her way. But her devotion to her beloved family compelled her to sacrifice herself as a breeder for Sherman. She had thought that once everything was settled, she would be able to return to her warm and loving home, and be Elaine, the daughter her parents adored.
