Chapter 27 Take Her To My Father

Amidst a chorus of cheers, Elaine made her exit from the grand ballroom.

She much preferred the solace of the quiet room over entertaining guests in the luxurious ballroom with their ulterior motives. Following closely behind Elaine was Cheryl.

"Elaine, you were exceptional just now," exclaimed Cheryl, her face still glowing with excitement.

However, upon gazing into Elaine's innocent eyes, her expression became a tad embarrassed.

"I'm sorry, it's my fault. I was trying to…" Cheryl trailed off.

"Cheryl, there's no need to apologize. I understand you completely," reassured Elaine, taking Cheryl's hand.

Elaine was taken aback by Cheryl's behavior and gently tried to comfort her.

"But I must repeat, you were splendid. You should have seen Olivia's expression. It was truly amusing," Cheryl said.

"But I don't think Sherman seemed too unhappy with that…" Elaine observed with a frown.

Elaine's heart sank at the mention of Sherman's apparent indifference.
