Chapter 9

  Yvette's POV

  "Why?"

"Because he's Alpha Black," Aubrey said.

Dejected, I sank into the chair, my hands tightly wrapping around my body.

Every attempt I made was pointless. I had to suck it up.

"Miss Schwartz, you are too feeble. Eat something," Aubrey said. Then he picked up a plate of cuisine from the trolley and placed it on the desk.

Clinging on to the last gleam of hope, I looked him in the eye and asked, "If I go beg Black, will he release me?"

Aubrey responded to me with nothing but a sympathetic look.

Taking the hint, I lapsed into silence.

The days I was trapped in this castle felt like ages.

The only saving grace was that I didn't see Black again.

Every day, exquisite dishes were served to my bedside. All something I had never tasted.

My physical health gradually improved, yet my mental health deteriorated.

There were countless guards in the castle. Once I stepped out of the room, I'd be followed.
