Yvette's POV
I didn't know how I got back home.
With every step I took, Gerald's words echoed in my ears.
"Yvette, I know it's only eye surgery, but what if I lose my memory?"
"If it really happens, please help me get it back. I can forget anyone but you."
"Violet and I are getting engaged."
"Can you stop pestering me?"
"Violet pities you for being an adopted daughter, but I don't. You make me sick!"
"If you were really kidnapped, I would kindly take care of your remains."
"How do you expect me to treat a woman who bugs her sister's mate all day long?"
Recalling the bittersweet moments I had with Gerald and my relatives' dislike of me, I leaned against the door and gave a wry smile.
Came to think of it, I was disgusting indeed.
Thank God it was over now.
I would no longer dwell on Gerald or the past. From now on, I only lived for myself.
Wiping away my tears, I took out the key from my bag.
