Chapter 40

  Aria's perspective

Neon came back and I followed him to the bedroom, I dropped the box I had taken along with me on the bed. Neon was taking off his shirt. There was a slight stain of blood on them.

“Is Diana okay?” I asked, standing behind him.

“She’s fine.” He rumbled and tossed the shirt aside, he walked to his wardrobe to take another shirt.

  “Neon, I didn’t—“

He spun around and exhaled, my mouth clamped shut. I couldn’t say what I wanted to, I didn’t want Neon to see me as if I was that kind of a person. I would never hurt anyone.

“It was a mistake, that was what Diana said, and worse, I couldn’t sense that you lied. Diana was telling the truth that you pushed her. Why?”

“She was blocking my path.” I tried to explain, why did Neon think I did that to her, and what lies Diana fed him that he believed what she said.

  “And you pushed her away?”

“No, Neon that was not it. I would never push her that way, I have nothing against Diana.”
