Yzax

The long night was not yet over, but the castle had finally settled into a semblance of calm—at least, it sounded quite peaceful.

However, if anyone were to see the scene in the central courtyard of the castle, they would surely be anything but calm.

A towering demon, over five meters tall, sat cross-legged in the center of the castle. Even sitting down, it made Lin Feng feel as though he were looking up at a giant. Flames and lava constantly spewed from the demon, casting a red glow over a radius of dozens of meters around him. The pile of rocks beneath him had partially turned into magma, making it seem as though the demon were sitting on a lake of lava. The demon and Lin Feng had already confirmed each other's identities, with the latter even double-checking with his data terminal. Now, this heart-pounding task was considered successfully completed.

The result left Lin Feng feeling surreal.

"I am called Yzax." The demon always instinctively leaned down when speaking to Lin Feng, a polite gesture that, however, forced Lin Feng to dodge the splashing flames and molten slag. The demon's voice sounded like thunder, mixed with the crackling of explosions. Moreover, the demon's language was twisted and complex. If not for the powerful translation function of the data terminal, Lin Feng would have been completely unable to communicate with this giant—his Chinese sounded like Japanese English, "Nice to meet you. It is said that this is the way to greet each other for the first time here."

Lin Feng wiped the sweat from his forehead (actually, he had been sweating the whole time; it was too darn hot next to the demon) and thought to himself that this intimidating giant was actually quite easy to talk to. He really didn't know how that miraculous raven had found such a weirdo. He then nodded to the demon who called himself Yzax, "Nice to meet you, you can call me Lin Feng. Um, about other things, did the raven 12345 tell you?"

Yzax seemed to smile wryly, "Yes, he told me everything. I know the situation here. You don't have to stand so far away; I don't eat people... I know that demons are not well received in most worlds, but you don't have to be like this, right? You are an inspector."

"Why do I feel like you are more familiar with the term 'inspector' than I am? I just took office." Lin Feng looked at the demon strangely. "I'm not afraid you'll eat me; it's mainly because your speech is too hot..."

Yzax laughed thunderously, "Haha, interesting. I have had some dealings with the Spirit God clan. They helped me a bit before I came here, so I have some understanding. Let those two girls come over, don't be so guarded. I'm not dangerous; I just want a place to live quietly."

Lin Feng looked surprised at the demon's face. He had not seen much ferocity on that obsidian-like rugged face (he was startled when they first met, feeling instinctively that it was very ferocious), and the demon's voice sounded somewhat depressed. According to what he mentioned about "receiving some help from the Spirit God clan," it seemed that this guy had experienced something before coming here. But this was not something Lin Feng should be concerned about right now. He turned his head and waved to Vivian and Muyun, "Alright, you two come over. Vivian, put away the bat, and Muyun, put down your brick—by the way, that thing is called a city wall brick, not a board brick, right? It's over a meter long!"

Muyun casually threw the ton-weight boulder aside, causing a loud bang, then approached cautiously with Vivian. The two superhuman girls could not understand the demon's words, but they had guessed the situation roughly from Lin Feng's conversation with the demon. Vivian looked at the burning giant creature in amazement, "Is this our new neighbor?"

"Yes, he's Yzax. It seems he can't speak the human language. When I go back, I'll ask raven 12345 if he can install the translation program for all of you so you can communicate smoothly." Lin Feng noticed Yzax was being introduced by pointing to himself, and immediately explained to Vivian.

Yzax noticed Lin Feng was introducing him and immediately grinned widely at Muyun and Vivian, revealing a smile that was over a thousand degrees Celsius, scaring the fur on Muyun's tail straight up.

"...Is he speaking demon language?" Vivian looked at Yzax strangely. "I've dealt with demons before, and I can speak their language, but this doesn't sound right; it's almost like a tape being played backwards, it's impossible to understand."

Lin Feng also felt a bit strange about this, especially considering the accident that happened when Vivian tried to seal the demon stone before. He was suddenly curious about this Yzax.

"Oh, I come from another world." Yzax's answer was quite straightforward. "Not another planet, but another universe, quite far 'away' from your universe. But the physical constants are highly consistent, just that the planet I used to live on is slightly larger than your planet, with slightly stronger gravity, but it doesn't matter, it doesn't affect me much."

Then the demon noticed Lin Feng hadn't spoken for a while and added, "Actually, I was originally assigned to another containment point in your universe, about twenty billion light-years away from Earth, but I didn't like the high oxygen content there, so I was sent here."

Lin Feng's mouth was open for about ten seconds before he finally couldn't stand the feeling of discord and spoke strangely, "Um... I understand what you mean, but why do you speak like this? You should say you come from another dimension or another space, summoned by the raven using some kind of magic, and the elemental forces in the two places are almost the same... I think this is the way a demon like you should speak; after all, you're a demon, a legendary race, right..."

Yzax scratched his head in confusion, scratching off a large piece of sparks, "Why speak like that? It sounds silly and not rigorous, a bit like the way the humans in my world spoke in hero novels popular a thousand years ago."

Lin Feng: "...I just feel it's very discordant to hear terms like planets and light-years from a magical creature's mouth."

Yzax shrugged, "But a thousand years ago we discovered that the planet we lived on was a sphere."

Lin Feng: "..."

Well, it seemed that this question was not suitable for further investigation. Lin Feng felt that he should remember and adapt to one thing: anything related to the Spirit God clan was not normal!

Lin Feng turned his head and explained Yzax's origin to Vivian, who was astonished. She had previously found the concept of aliens quite novel, but now she was seeing a being from another universe, feeling that the world was more open than ever before. Muyun, on the other hand, was more calm; she didn't understand.

In fact, at this moment, Lin Feng's astonishment was not much less than Vivian's. After all, even though he hung the sign of "Time and Space Management Bureau employee,"

he had never actually experienced true crossing. It would be false to say he wasn't surprised when he heard Yzax was from another universe. However, he had to work hard to maintain his image of expertise in front of the two girls. At least, he had to maintain a calm demeanor—both were employees of the Time and Space Management Bureau; he couldn't act like a country bumpkin when he saw a foreigner.

"I don't think this is the place to continue talking." Lin Feng had wanted to continue chatting with the demon to learn more about him, but he finally noticed the faint fish-belly white light on the horizon, suddenly realizing that he had been delayed in this castle for a whole night. He couldn't tell when various people would notice the anomalies here, so he quickly stood up and said.

Actually, he was very worried that someone would notice here now. After all, the landing of Yzax and the disturbances caused by Vivian's actions were quite significant. But now he had no time to think about these trivial troubles—he had to find a way to get this Yzax back!

Lin Feng looked up at Yzax, who was taller sitting down than the house. Then he looked at the two beautiful girls beside him and felt sad in his heart, "How can I take you back!"

That raven 12345 hadn't told him that the new tenant was a humanoid mountain of flames standing at five meters tall! He didn't know if he could quickly contact the international smugglers, arrange for a giant container, and pack it in to handle this level of creature?

Yzax, however, just smiled calmly, "Oh, that's simple."

As he spoke, the demon's body quickly shrank, and the flames and magma that surrounded him slowly receded and transformed. In the end, he turned into a rugged giant about two meters tall.

"There, problem solved, right?"

Lin Feng: "...Why didn't you say you could shapeshift earlier?"

"Because you didn't ask."

Lin Feng: "..."
