As she was reviewing, a thunderclap suddenly erupted across the sky, startling Wenyan so much that she sat bolt upright in bed.
Immediately after, the sound of rain began pouring down outside.
The heavy rain had finally started.
Wenyan simply flopped back down onto her bed, muttering to herself, "It should be cooler now, right?"
She had planned to continue the thoughts she was reviewing, but she found it tedious and anxiety-inducing, so she decided to play with her phone instead.
Caught between anxiety and playing with her phone, Wenyan chose to play with her phone anxiously.
Playing on her phone didn't require much thought, but as she did, Wenyan suddenly stopped swiping through short videos—she felt like she had forgotten something.
But what it was, she couldn't remember at all.
Not until the night sky was slashed again by lightning, revealing a soaking wet face behind the glass door of Wenyan's room.
At this sight, Wenyan's heart nearly leaped out of her chest.
