Chapter 28

As I broke bread with my detested companion, Lynn and Lumi secretly undermined the estate's defenses. Their sabotage would soon unleash a swarm of monsters from the nearby goblin settlement, discovered by the knights during my second winter here.

With the knights' absence, chaos would reign supreme. The mansion's usual safeguards were down, leaving its occupants vulnerable. I didn't care who fell or died; witnessing carnage on these grounds would bring me a twisted solace.

"We completed our task, Master," they chimed in unison.

"Well done. Now, let's savor the chaos we've unleashed."

As we finished eating, he spoke up. "Alicia, would you like to stroll in the garden?"

I smiled sweetly. "Of course, Master. We can take a walk."
