As I sat on Kieran's lap, my hands wrapped around his neck, I asked, "So, when did you arrive? I didn't notice your presence."

He smiled, his voice low and husky. "From when you talked to Azazel about killing me off. I didn't want to interrupt."

I chuckled, "So, you heard everything."

His eyes sparkled with curiosity. "But how did you know there's a delegation coming?" he asked, his brow furrowed in intrigue.

I smiled mischievously, "I have my ways," I said, leaving it at that. I couldn't very well tell him that I had bribed and befriended a few maids, knights, and attendants to gather information. If he found out, he wouldn't let me off the hook easily.

Kieran's eyes gleamed with amusement. "If you tell me, I'll kiss you so hard that you'll melt in my embrace," he whispered, his breath sending shivers down my spine.
