BRUTAL REVELATION

The minute Gabriel returns from his phone call, the sparkle in his eyes and the vibrating aura he exudes for three days, vanishes. I am not aware who he has spoken to, nor the purpose of the call, but something tells me that whoever that caller was brought a news that gloomed his vibrance. He lost appetite on his plate and told me to eat quickly. I wanted to ask him again, about the cause of his sudden lack of enthusiasm, but I castigated myself and did what was ordered of me to do.

After dinner, we walked side by side the hallway towards our suites. He was still unbelievably silent, like a burden was laying heavily upon his shoulder, as his face can't be figuratively described and obviously was in deep thoughts. He halted when we were at the doorstep of my suite, both hands deeply pocketed inside his trousers with eyes seeming at loss.

"Gabriel, did something happen? You seemed like you were not with yourself after that call you had. Who called you? Was it Emma?"
