CHAPTER 2 : NEW LIFE

" Darling , pls excuse us , I and victor has something urgent to discuss.

"Okay" Mom held my hands and together we went upstairs

However, some moment later I had the sound of argument coming from the living and it was the voice of Dad and his friend uncle victor " darling coming" Mom said preparing to rush downstairs and all of the sudden

was a gunshot " did you think I am playing".

Mom carried me on her back and began to make way to the secret passage

"Just stay here , don't come out don't try it ".

She said as she made her way back maybe to see dad and for the first time I knew fear , what it meant to be afaird

"Scorpion , check around for their daughter , make sure She is murded , it dangerous if she is alive.

" Yes sir "

On hearing this , I felt shivers ram through vein ,"what have happened to mum? " Why is dad not saying anything ?

I continued runing untill I was got to a main with cars moving around , I could not take it any longer and fainted before I finally lost consciousness I had a voices screaming " that girl has fainted " But I was too weak to get up, too weak to call for help .this was so much for a girl of ten to take in .

How did this happen? Why my lovely parents ?

********AT THE HOSPITAL***********

" Hello are you okay?" was what I heard when I finally opened my eyes ,then turn to see a middle age probably in her forties who sat on the chair beside my bed and then a nurse walk in to remove my IV drip

" Girl, why did you faint on the road where are your parents?"

"Yah my parents ,what happened to them ? I must have had wrong yesterday right ? Uncle victor can't do such thing he was my dad friend from the age of ten children friend to be precised .So what could have gone wrong why did my birthday become a curse day for me who did I offend ?

I stared blankly into space ,lost in thought in my own world

I never talk to anyone for two weeks , I was always lost in thought and never said anything about my parent .

Then cecila who brought me to the hospital took me to her house , got me a therapist but all was in vain . Then one evening , I told cecila I witnessed my parent been murdered and was been currently traced by the murder , I never told her who the person was and she never ask she told me to take my time and talk to her when am ready .

Cecila us an independent woman , I get marveled , astonished , amazed as I get to know her more. She is married to a business tycoon who is always busy , But that never diminish their love for each other . They understand and support each other decision

and their connection God it so deep. But they had no child although they tried all attempt was futile. I started living with them they took me has theirs I was so blessed currently their processing my travelling document am not leaving they are coming with me also.

But did this quench my thirst for revenge ?

No instead am burning for revenge .

I think leaving my country was the great gift I was given by this lovely couples .

I made a new friend who was in the same grade as me . I think the adage " people are more respected outside their country is the case of cecila and her husband .

If he was ten times blessed in his country, then he is twenty times blessed here .

Cecilia is a fashion designer with astonishing reputation over here and her husband is not left out .

"So darling you are now eighteen what career part did you want to choose"cecila asked

" Designing of course " I replied

That my baby , she said hugging

" So Tom" she said turning to her husband " what did you think"

" Me " he said turning to us " well-done Abi what happened to your dream of reading Financial Accounting and join me in the company"

" The dream is not a right one , I think I just had a right one " Cecila bursted out laughing

" Yah darling this dream is right one"

" So my baby will be graduating in a few month ,what did you want has a present"

" Nothing mom , just want to go for a two year designing course actually

" I think you have the potential already your design draft are amazing".

I don't think so" I murmured

He cleared his throat , signed sadly and expressed an emotion of sorrow

" Yah, he was a really good man untill his house was set on fire on his daughter tenth birthday and her body is yet to be found only his and hers his wife were the body I properly buried ".

" What a pity may their lovely soul respect in peace . So Mr victor we will be releasing you it was nice having you on our show"
