Squad Meeting

As Gilbert struck a pose, his theatrical flair elicited eye rolls and exasperated sighs from the others around him, while William couldn't help but let out a low chuckle, amusement dancing in his eyes. "Well, lead on," he said, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. "what shall be our first order of business?" William said calmly

"Oh, it seems someone is handling their loss better than I anticipated," Kean stated with a hint of sarcasm. Just as Wolfgang was going to approach him he was stopped by William

"I don't need to take it negatively because these teams are temporary so why make a fuss," he said not bothering to even look at Kean. Seeing Kean ready to open his mouth again Gilbert stopped him.

"He is right; this is just temporary, so let's all get along and see what they have for us," said Gilbert. So, what do you want to know?"

"Well as said before I am William ID: 735, skilled in close-quarters combat," said William.

"Wait, wait you have close combat training?" asked Anastasia curiously who previously was busy speaking in with Chen Mei

"Of course, we had training all kids from Tier II cities start training from the age of five and we focus at what we are good at by age nine or at least for one year before going taking the serum," said Wolfgang sarcastically

"It is the same for me." said Chen Mei "I am trained to become a medic and my ID is 311."

"See we all have uses that's why few people from tier III cities even make it into the armies and lucky ones don't make it too far. So you all should just give up now and lest you hold back because I don't want to end up being stuck on a squire squad," said Wolfgang

"Okay that is it let's see how well you are trained," said Kean, throwing a punch at Wolfgang's face which he grabbed then using the hand-held onto he threw Kean onto his shoulders before slamming him onto the ground lifting his foot the stomped towards his chest but was blocked by another foot under his, looking up he said that it was Gilbert's, he then applied more force onto his foot but no matter how much forced he applied he could not get Gilbert's foot down meanwhile punches aimed at his temple and chin by Adam and Gilbert respectively were grabbed by William. Seeing their sudden action surprised the girls who quickly went to break them apart.

"Okay even if it is temporary we still have to be the squad for the foreseeable future so why don't we all just calm down," said Anastasia worriedly

"mhmh mhhm," said Chen Mei nodding her shyly in agreement. They all just stared at each other, Gilbert then removed his foot and helped Kean to stand up.

"Gilbert no training ID: 141," said Gilbert with a smile at William.

"Adam ID: 149," said Adam taking his fist out of William's hand

"Kean ID:147 no training," said Kean allowing Ana to brush off his back while staring daggers at Wolfgang

"Wolfgang ID: 732 trained in close combat and ballistic weapons," said Wolfgang with a small smirk.

"Anastasia ID: 143, I have no formal training but I have studied mechanics for three years now." She said

"What do you think they have planned for us?" Chen Mei asked shyly

"It's quite obvious this orientation." said Gilbert " All schools have orientation why wouldn't this one" This caused all the others to nod in agreement.

As the team prepared to assemble their squad, similar scenes unfolded across the operations zone, vividly captured on screens monitored by General Beckett and his team from the command deck. This high-tech room, situated at the heart of the impressive 400-foot-long vehicle, was shielded beneath an expansive reinforced canopy made up of multiple screens. These displays provided real-time feeds showcasing the movements and activities of the new cadets, highlighting their positions and readiness levels.

At the focal point of the command deck stood a sophisticated holographic table projecting a detailed, 3D map of the area, pinpointing their exact location within the broader combat zone. Surrounding this centerpiece were various command stations, each manned by dedicated operators who diligently analyzed data, coordinated communications, and tracked every development in the field. The atmosphere buzzed with a sense of urgency and focus, as the team prepared for the critical tasks ahead."Navigator, how far out are we now?" Asked general Beckett

"Sir, we are approximately 20 miles out." replied a young man

" Good slow down we let them off here and let their introduction to military life begin," said General Beckett

"Sir, while this isn't a problem for those from tier I and II cities those from III generally have little to no training squads with members from those cities at a great disadvantage." Said colonel Z'yna

""Let them return to their backwater cities and take up farming or factory work; after all, the resources required to transform even one of them into a knight are simply too costly," Doctor Wolmer declared, prompting a few operators around the room to share low, amused chuckles. But the light laughter quickly faded as the atmosphere shifted dramatically. Suddenly, the room plunged into darkness, a low, thunderous rumble emanating from General Beckett's chest reverberating through the air, sending a ripple of tension among the gathered team."Mind was words Wolmer you are here as an unwanted guest at the command of the president but do not think I will not throw you off this ship," he said as he finished their visions all cleared while the instructors all had small smiles on their faces Wolmer shot Beckett nasty look to the back of his head before taking a deep breath to calm down

"I am sorry general but as you say I am here at the command of the president. Plus generally, it seems that your lapse of emotion has frightened your little rabbits" said Wolmer snidely. His remark caused everyone to look at the screen displaying the recruits in the common area bending down and panting heavily except for seven who could still stand albeit barely.

"Start the march." the general announced

Back inside the common room, recruits could be seen all over the ground some kneeling a few flat on their stomachs except for Gilbert, Adam, William, and four others from different squads.

"What just happened? Just now it felt as if I was drowning underwater" Kean asked panting getting up from the ground and wobbling as if still disoriented. Gilbert and William both shook their heads showing they were just as confused as they panted heavily and began to help the others up.

"That is what happens when a marine lets their energy slip in regular environments," said Chen Mei while removing her bangs from her face.

"What how is that possible for a human to do that?" asked Anastasia.

"It is said that every marine is a natural disaster why do you think they built tier cities," she replied

Beep beep beep

As they were speaking they received a notification from their watches. Looking it read 'Recruits shall be released in their squads on the ground and march the rest of the distance towards the academy. Squads have a time limit of three hours to arrive with entire squads or else all shall face disciplinary action'. Their watches then started showing the countdown from three hours alongside an arrow pointing them in the direction of the academy, multiple exit doors were opened for squads to exit. As Squad Nine approached the exit they said that they were still twenty feet off the ground.

"Looks like they expect us to jump." Said Adam

"Yeah, but we weren't given any parachutes so what do expect us to do fly?" Wolfgang asked, as they spoke a squad with one of the children who could still stand after the energy released all jumped out of the carrier but instead of succumbing to gravity, they all started to gently float down.

"Hmm, what's that?" Kean asked

"Antigrav clothing, they are used by people from tier I cities to avoid death if they happen to fall out of their antigrav vehicles or any high fall but it only works up to thirty feet and you can't fly with them they will only make you fall gently," said Chen Mei as she was talking the three other squads with standing members both jumped out and started to float gently down as well except for where Williams friend with the buzz cut was apart could be seen falling rapidly towards the ground to landing into a squat. This surprised everyone on the ship as he was the only one falling rapidly he landed first so everyone saw him landing safely.

"You guys have all been given the serum as long you have three doses you can land safely well except for some minor injuries." said the guard standing by the door and seeing them hesitate.

"Well nine times take a leap of faith, William help Chen Mei to land properly and Adam you help Ana. Guys try to stay together and we move off once land," said Gilbert saying that he jumped off the carrier, the others then quickly followed with Adam helping Ana stay upright. William then reached for Chen Mei to help her but she declined so he went alone. Landing heavily on the ground Gilbert felt some pain in his legs around Adam and Ana landed safely, Wolfgang and Kean landed and ended up crashing into each other meanwhile William similarly to him landed into a squat safely, looking around he did not see Chen Mei as he was about to open his mouth he saw her floating down safely from they ship landed gently beside them causing all them to look at her surprised

"I am sorry ma'am I did not know we had a noble in our mist," said William giving her a small bow, Wolfgang then also followed quickly.

"It's fine guys my family although from tier I city don't have any form of political power," she said

"Yes but still ma'am I am sorry for any misconduct my peers and I have shown." Said Wiliam

"Okay, okay you can kiss her bony ass later for now form up, and let's go before people start to land on us. The others quickly complied. " Okay here is our marching formation, Kean I want five meters ahead of us we don't know what to expect, next will be William then Ana and Mei in the middle after them comes Wolfgang then comes me and Adam side by side." Gilbert instructed "Any questions?" he asked

"Where given any form of military training before this?" asked William

"No but my cousin is in the military so I learned a thing or two from him" he replied

All of them then got into formation and moved out towards the location of the academy indicated on their watches.
