Playing Board Game With Noelle

Wonder what is the best thing to do? I wandered around my room. If I want to get closer with my daughter then I will make our bond tighter and make a lot of memories and so that adopting her will not be useless.

Bonding indoors will be better for her than outside mostly that I just adopted her yesterday. I wondered and wondered, I looked around if there were any playable items. I noticed something familiar in my bookshelf, 'Criss-Cross Word' board game, it's like forming words where all word tiles played in any one turn must be placed in one continuous line only, horizontally or vertically. I remember playing this board game with my friends.

I took it out and went to Noelle's door, I hope she'll enjoy it.

*Knock knock knock*

"Yes?" Noelle replied as she opened the door

Noelle is fast on responding to the door today.

"Uuhhhh, want to play Criss-Cross?" I asked to her.

She lit up as if it was her first time seeing it.

"O-okay" she replied back

We went to the nearest table, I placed all the tiles. I noticed her face like she didn't know any of it. I teach her how to play it, she learned quickly. I asked her if shes ready, and she nodded.

I made the first move, I placed the first word on the board.

"Dream"

Now, Noelle eagerly took her turn.

"Laughter"

She placed it beside my word, reminiscing about moments filled with joy. With every part of our move, we looked like we were narrating a story with our words.

As our game progressed, our stories intertwined, forming a beautiful tapestry of memories. I put the word

"Adventure"

Noelle followed, placing

"Friendship"

on the board.

With each word we played, our connection deepened, the room seems like transformed into sanctuary experiences. We both celebrated the artistry of our moves, the richness of our narratives, and the beauty of the story we wove together.

The game finally reached its final moments, I contemplated my last move, I placed the word

"Love"

on the board, I looked at Noelle and then look away. Sh*t, seeing her after placing the word "Love" on the board feels different, like blushing. Noelle had the last turn, she placed the word

"Family"

on the board, I looked at the word closely, she might have encapsulated the essence of our connection.

We sat back, our eyes scanning the board, I feel a deep sense of fulfillment. The board game became our testament of our journey. A celebration of words we shared and cherished.

"Eeerrrr uuuuhhh, did you enjoy the game Noelle?" I asked her

She didn't respond, her eyes is locked to the board. I asked her again with a louder tone, she snapped out of it.

"Oohh, uh yes....dad" she replied back

Hearing her calling me dad seems different, I feel like I want to make her say my name.

From that day on, we continued the game, making stories, journeys, discovering new words...and tightening our bonds.
