Book 3 - Chapter 60 : Bloated Bellies and Dust Angels

= Sarah POV =

Dinner was delicious. We were both stuffed by the end of it and laid on the floor, holding our bellies and groaning.

"Ok, something to take note of is the portion size. I think I made way too much for a single serving," Chris groaned, rubbing her belly in agony.

"Ah, I think I can lie here and not move for a couple of hours. I need to digest. It was so sinfully delicious," I exclaimed, making dust angels on the floor.

"Stop, you're gonna hit me by accident," Chris complained, rolling away from me like a beached whale.

"Sorry. Hey, you know what often helps when I'm this full?" I said and sat up. " A nice walk," I beamed, standing up and stretching. I went over to my suitcase and pulled on a sweatshirt and a pair of sweatpants over my night clothes.

"It's like 8 o'clock; it's too late to leave campus," Chris groaned, forcing herself to sit up and look up at me.

"Oh, I don't want to leave campus. We can just walk around the dorm grounds. Also, don't we need to return the dishes to the kitchen?" I asked as I gathered up the plates.

Chris struggled to her feet and grabbed her little basket, piling the bowls and the cutlery into it.

"Yeah, I guess a walk would be nice," she said as she went over to her desk and picked up her keys.

As I straightened up and looked over at her, I noticed she had dust in her hair from the floor.

"Oh dear, just stand still for a bit," I said and reached out for her.

Before I could touch her, Chris grabbed my arm in mid-air. " What are you doing?" she asked, staring at me cautiously.

"There's some dust in your hair; I just wanted to get it out," I said and smiled. " Don't worry; I don't plan to do anything scandalous to my precious friend"

Chris sighed and released me, looking kind of disappointed for some reason, while I picked out and brushed away the dust.

"There you go, looking as cute as always," I said, giving a little kiss to the lock of her hair before releasing it and walking over to the door.

I opened the door and turned back to find Chris just staring at the ground.

"Are you ok?" I asked, wondering what had gotten into her.

"Is that a thing straight girls do? Randomly kiss people's…hair?" She asked, sounding nervous.

"Yeah, why not? You and your hair are both cute!" I grinned. " Come on, let's dump these in the kitchen and go walk off this food-baby," I said and giggled, patting my belly.

Chris looked up and smiled, but for some reason, I felt like the smile didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Sure, let's go. I think we can take a walk down to the pond; it should still be lit up by the garden lights," Chris said, following me out of the dorm room and locking the door behind us.
