CHAPTER ONE : TO HELL WITH THE BOND

 TESSA's POV

The party hall, which was filled with lots of food and drinks, chatting and very loud, excited people instantly a few minutes ago, instantly turned quiet and cold, it was like everyone seized their breath along with Tessa.

Cecilia tugged on Tessa's right hand, pulling her quickly toward one of the exit, tears were beginning to form in Tessa's eyes, clouding her vision but she knew they had to get out of there.

They both moved briskly toward the exit door. She saw the sad and pitiful look on everyone's faces. Tessa didn't dream of her story ending like this. Her heart and steps became heavy at once, but she needed to get out of the place first. Before she lost her sanity.

But Alpha Trevor wasn't done with her yet, before they even got to the exit, his guards stopped and pushed them back not so gently, to the centre of the hall, people began to murmur among themselves at once.

Wondering within her mind, why he wouldn't let her leave. Her mate who she had just discovered; Alpha Trevor, finally got to where she stood trembling with Cecilia; all through she relaxed on her best friend for support.

Tessa was trembling and knew her legs would give in. If she dared to stand on her own, her friend stood right beside her, giving her all of her support, then she heard his loud rumbling voice.

She would have jumped on him instantly if the story was reversed, but he had a very beautiful woman in his arms and they had both stopped in front of her, the woman eyeing her with contempt.

"Is this who I'm going to share my life with? This poor and worthless thing?"Those were his first words to her, more of a mocking question but she inhaled her breath to block the hurt in his words and quickly looked down at her shaky fingers.

The hall became quiet again, all the curious side talks stopped at once again, some people were enjoying her humiliation, why some genuinely pitied her, " I will not subject myself to this…. This worthless thing!" His words hit her hard again.

He didn't touch her or even raise his voice but she lost her balance, Tessa fell into the shiny marble floor and held her chest. It was becoming too much to bear. she felt the mate pull and saw him moving swiftly toward her with the other woman in his arms.

She knew his intentions, he would reject her. It was obvious in his eyes, the way he looked at her with anger and disgust, it was very disappointing and painful but she wanted to leave quietly and peacefully, yet he wouldn't allow her.

"Darling… Please don t waste your breath on this thing, do what has to be done and end it!" The woman by his side lashed out at her, her voice filled with hatred and anger as well.

"Everyone here knows who I am…. The Alpha of this pack, wealthy and this handsome" her mate started by hailing himself, some people cheered and hailed him, the hall coming alive again.

Tessa watched from her teary and clouded eye as his mother smiled and waved from where she sat, his parents just sat there and did nothing. Everyone knows Alpha Trevor to be an only child.

spoiled and pampered from birth, but until a few minutes ago when they both felt the pull for the first time. She didn't believe he could be so cruel.

He kicked her leg and she quickly crawled away from him, still sitting on the floor, the shame was too much for her to stand, Cecilia crouched beside her, rubbing her back in circles to quietly comfort her.

Cecilia is just as helpless as she is, the poor girl could not question her Alpha, "Sylvia is going to be my queen and I won't take any other besides her, she's worthy of me…. My heart and my love… This poor thing is not my mate… I reject you Tessa Carmen!"

Just like that he rejected her and the mate bond broke, along with her already heavy heart, Tessa's wolf ran into hiding at once, squirming in distress at how their mate rejected them.

Her breath seized and she couldn't breath well, she noticed Cecilia fanning some air to her, everything looked bleak and unclear as she was about to cry.

She wanted to say something back at him as well but she couldn't find her voice, instead she grunted and stretched out for air, it felt like she was dying, along with her heart break the mate rejection was so painful.

Cecilia hauled her from the floor and was about to turn for one of the exits again but Alpha Trevor isn't done yet still, "put this haggard and ugly thing into the worst prison in my dungeon!" he yelled.

Before Tessa could blink an eye, the guards separated her from her now crying best friend and were dragging her to her new home, the cage.

Tessa was already tired and weak, she couldn't resist the arrest, all she knew at that point was the draining and frustrating feeling of betrayal and deep hurt.

Her heart wasn't beating normally, it felt like her soul left her body. Just this evening she and Cecilia had dressed up and dolled themselves

To attend this event, hoping in her heart that she would find her mate.

Her eighteenth birthday was last week and she had looked up to this event, all her life she had waited and looked up to only this one thing, the day the love of her life would come and shower her with undiluted true love.

She of course met him and he did just the opposite, he showered her with undiluted hatred, betrayal and even imprisonment.

Tessa felt her body hit the floor again, she looked around and found out they had gotten to the prison, the place smelled of sweat and blood, very dark and hot.

The guards locked her prison door and moved away from her, she smiled sadly at her self, looked around the place and everything started coming back to her head.

The whole event and how it happened tonight, felt like her head would blow up, she held her head with her two hands and screamed as loud as she could

Letting out all her sadness and pain, before they eventually swallow her, right now she's feeling like she would lose her senses if she didn't at least brawl out.

For an hour, she just screamed, cried and screamed again, the guards ordered her to stop making noise, she tried to but she couldn't.

"To hell with the mate bond… I hate love… To hell!" she yelled continuously before finally colliding into Unconsciousness.
