36. Hides for Days

"Success depends upon previous preparation, and without such preparation, there is sure to be failure." — Confucius

By the time Paul logged in and looked around, he saw the familiar setting of the slaughterhouse and sighed; he had been here for most of his waking hours for around a week straight, and it was somewhat mind-numbing.

He was not too bothered about the decision he left in Holly's hands; either way, it was fine with him. Realistically, he would choose to go hungry for a few days to make a significant sum of money. Still, it was clear to him that the young woman was very bad at taking care of herself, and making a hard decision was an excellent way to make her think twice about sacrificing her well-being for money.

Most people could quickly put themselves through hardship and self-harm with a low enough mental state, but it was an entirely different mindset to subject a friend or family member to the same thing.
