Chapter 3

My thoughts are wild and upset. I hoped our family would scold Garvi for cheating but apparently, they didn't. Out of my mind. My parents received an apology from Garvi's family and it annoyed me, it was even clearly written on Agha's face, he looked like he wanted to hit Garvi but he held back and went into the house by slamming the door so hard that we were shocked. An older brother will look disapproving and angry when his younger sister is cheated on.

The Garvi family also invited us to eat together before they moved house. Because the goods in their house had been transported in the truck, they invited us to eat together at our house with those who ordered the food. It's really funny that our neighbors are moving house. And, my parents just agreed. It seems like people on this earth should emulate the goodness of my family. Their child was cheated on and they accepted the apology from the person who betrayed their daughter very easily without anger. Now providing a place for dinner with the family of the person who betrayed her child.

My parents deserve The Muri Awards for this.

"We feel very guilty and uncomfortable about what Garvi did to Nayana," said Garvi's Mother, Rania, to us when we finished dinner with our family's favorite food menu.

At least they know how uncomfortable it is to order our family's favorite dish.

"Sorry, I was wrong and didn't deserve Nayana." He should have said that a long time ago when I rejected his declaration of love and stupidly I accepted his declaration of love the second time.

I should focus on studying because soon I will be going to grade twelve. Moreover, recently I have had difficulty studying because of a broken heart. I feel guilty about my future. My shining future may be a little dimmer because of my carelessness. No, I will not trade my brilliant future for a period of heartbreak that must be over. I don't want to regret this problem.

I exhaled slowly, "I'm sorry for wasting my precious study time by dating. Moreover, I haven't had the enthusiasm to study for a week, so it's affecting my ranking in class later. All of that is because I'm heartbroken and very upset. After all, I was betrayed." I pressed the word betrayed so that everyone at the dinner table knew that I was upset.

"I will make up for all my carelessness by studying harder so that I can get a scholarship to study at the best university and achieve my dream of becoming a great farmer to prevent a rice shortage in this country."

Everyone looked at me with gazes that had different meanings. But I like the meaning of Agha's gaze, like 'I like your style of speaking, this is my dear sister and it is amazing revenge'. Meanwhile, my Mother looked at me, I didn't like it because my Mother didn't agree with me going to college to major in agriculture and becoming a farmer.

The look in Dad's eyes made me feel, 'That's not what I meant, Dad'. Yes, my Father thought I would become a government employee in the agricultural sector even though that was not my intention. I don't want to discuss the meaning of the gaze between Garvi and Garvi's parents.

"So, according to you, our relationship has been careless all this time," asked Garvi why did I mention his name again?

I shook my head, "Our friendship means a lot to me and you are my favorite friend since childhood because you are not annoying and always defend me from Nareswara's pranks. But," I paused because I felt embarrassed for both of our parents but Sis Agha held my hand and gave me courage. for me to say it.

So I continued, "Our romantic relationship was careless and it shouldn't have happened. I hope no one will be offended, but if you are offended, it's okay because what you feel is not my responsibility, not what I feel is your responsibility." Am I a very wise eleventh-grade high school boy now?

"Package," shouted from outside the house and it was the courier bringing a special gift package for Garvi. I asked for the goods to be sent today using a fast delivery service, so I bought them from a shop close to our housing complex.

"The farewell gift package for Garvi has arrived," I said to quickly escape from the atmosphere which had turned into a thick fog because of what I just said.

I have received the package and Garvi is very excited to open the gift package from me. Maybe he thought that this was a gift for a photo frame or painting. When it was opened, he was surprised to see the reflection of his face in the glass, including our family. Everyone was surprised by this gift. I like this reaction. "I hope you will look in the mirror every day so you don't behave as you please again," I said and my words brought a thick fog again but a bright smile appeared on Agha's lips.

After receiving an extraordinary gift for self-introspection, Garvi and his parents left for their new home without giving me a gift back. Oh right, they have given us gifts of food that will be digested by our stomachs and then thrown away in the dumps. It is very useful to fill our hungry stomachs and my gift is very useful for Garvi.

"Where did you get the idea for such an extraordinarily painful gift for that traitor," Agha asked me on the veranda of the house after I got two thumbs up from Mother and Father who turned out to be secretly holding back emotions for their image.

I laughed silently, "Because he never looks in the mirror and always has his way, it's very fitting to get a glass as a gift one hundred and fifty in length."

"My little sister is indeed a high school student who is smart in taking revenge," laughed Agha, very satisfied.

"Oh, there's an expedition truck. Is there anything left behind by the Garvi family?" I asked myself when I saw the expedition truck stopping in front of the empty house next to my house.

"It doesn't look like it because it stopped in front of Nareswara's house. Is the house going to be sold so the expedition truck came here to vacate their house?"

"Who knows!" If that happens, I feel sad because I haven't seen Betari for a long time. Even though we often chat via telecommunications.

"Mom must be sad about losing her favorite neighbor. Even their family moving temporarily to Seoul makes Mom cry, especially if they move permanently."

"It's good if that happens because I don't want to be neighbors with Nareswara anymore." Yes, I don't like Nareswara because he is annoying and always gets praise from Mom all the time.
