We had to leave before Hwang Jun got a hang of himself and before Miko woke up. They were surely stronger the Hae Won and I, but our synchronized attack had weakened the demon; any form of excessive or forced attack would result in an opening for him to exploit and once that happens we're up for grabs.
We couldn't fight them any longer, I was too weak to go further.
Hae Won grabbed my hand, "Let's go!" She was panting heavily, the fatigue in her eyes was very visible.
We sprinted through the desolate streets, our footsteps echoing off the abandoned buildings. The moon cast an eerie glow, illuminating the dark alleys and crumbling facades. Hae Won's grip on my hand tightened as we navigated the winding roads, her fingers intertwined with mine in a vice-like hold.
"Eodi (where are we going?), I asked, my voice strained from exhaustion.
"To meet Myul Mang, of course," Hae Won replied, her breathless tone laced with fatigue and desperation.
