Lost

A wolf in town, it isn't possible, except it is no ordinary wolf like the one in my dreams.

Another howl more urgent, louder than the first tears through the trees.

My legs react faster than my brain and before i can think further my legs have taken off, tearing through thick shrubs and underbrush. I jump over a few tangled ferns, fall over a few times and finally give up running.

I struggle to catch my breath, taking in air through my mouth and panting.

I look around. The trees here were so close to each other that their branches have completely blocked out the sun. It was dark and fear, that cunning bastard was beginning to sneak up on me.

What ever adrenaline that pushed me into this mess has been far spent on the run and now reality was setting in.

There was no wolf.

'You idiot, even if there was a wolf, what then' my inner voice half screamed.

'Isn't it lucky that there is no wolf?'

I sigh out in frustration, what am i even doing here?

'Why are you here?' My inner voice echoes.

I wander around looking for a way out but the lack of a path is making it difficult.

I walk for a while unsure if i am going deeper into the forest or out, eventually i collapse underneath a big tree with wide branches that tangle with the beaches of other neighbourhood trees creating a canopy of sort.

My stomach growls loudly alerting me to my hunger and thirst, for the first time since i hurriedly left the house this morning i realise that my cellphone is not with me.

"Fuck" i sigh out in frustration.

I have no idea how long i have been wandering here or what time of day it is but i finally give up and just slump on a patch of wet grass.

"Annah....annah wake up"

My eyes slowly open and for a while nothing makes sense.

"Zachary?" I ask unsure that the handsome brown eyes that were staring into mine were actually real.

"Are you okay?" His worried voice sounds clearer and more present now.

"What are you doing here?" My voice comes out hoarse,' i must be really thirsty' i think.

"Shouldn't we be asking you that?" I hadn't noticed the 5 other pair of eyes staring down at me.

"Huh?" I say stupidly

"Come on, get up lets get you out of here first" zachary says helping me up.

I sway a little before finding my footing and obediently follow behind the men as they led the way out of the woods.

It took us about an hour to get to the road, i guess i had somehow wandered deeper than i expected.

I let out a sigh of relief as we step onto the road..

I sit across from Zachary and Andre with simon and another guy siting to my left, Beau i think, he's in our class.

The fifth guy i have never seen, he had disappeared immediately we got to the road.

I clasp both my hands around the cup of hot coffee before me, looking into its creamy surface unwilling to look up or answer the question i know they are dying to ask.

No one has said a word since we left the woods although Andre has been fuming not so unnoticeably, he seems to be really pissed at me.

"How did you find me?" I finally ask, curiosity getting the better of me.

"Why were you there?" Andre scowls at me and this earns him a glare from Zachary.

"Don't"

"Don't what?" Andre fires back at him

"I'm sure Savannah has an explanation for why she was there" beau places both his hands on the table staring intensely at the two men before us. Now they all turn to look at me.

'I don't owe them an explanation, so why should i give one'.

"Why were you guys there?" I throw back my own question defiantly.
