Calm Down

"May, don't," Ray whispered, knowing that this woman was burning with jealousy.

"May, don't," Ray whispered again, knowing that this woman was burning with jealousy.

"So what should I do?"

Without much talk, Ray immediately reached for the young lady's chin and smiled at her. "I'm here!"

Upon hearing the words from Ray's lips, Maya's eyes widened, and tears welled up. "Thank you,"

"I'm here for you too, May!" Yuki added, nodding, trying to reassure her friend.

"Oh, thank you both for being here for me today!"

"Of course! Don't be sad. We have to fight them! They are evil!" Yuki insisted, quickly turning to Mike, who still allowed Miya to lean on his shoulder, even though he knew that Maya, his former lover, was in front of him.

"He has no heart, no shame. There's no need for you to be sad because of him, May!"

Maya nodded upon hearing her driver's words. Although she had never seen her brother's affair with Mike, now that everything was clear like this, she didn't regret leaving Mike.

"Sister!" Miya called out, straightening her sitting position and stepping closer to Maya. "You're here too?"

"Yes!" Maya answered as if nothing terrible had happened to her heart.

"Miya, don't approach Maya."

"But Mike, she..."

"Quiet!" Mike said firmly with his eyes rolling.

"Oh, you don't want my sister to approach me? What's the matter? Are you afraid that she..."

"Enough!" Mike shouted, then grabbed Miya's hand roughly.

"Ouch!" Miya screamed and pulled her hand away.

"Hey, can't you be gentle with women!" Ray exclaimed, not accepting it.

"Hey! Who are you! Why are you yelling at me like that,"

"Ray, don't," Maya whispered. Then she stood up and approached Miya, whom she knew wasn't entirely at fault in this case.

Gently, Maya touched Miya's reddened hand and smiled at her sister.

"Sister," Miya whispered, looking down in shame at what she had done to her sister. "Forgive me,"

"No need to apologize, I know the story,"

"You know what about us!" Mike shouted, who had hidden many things from Maya all this time.

"I know that you never intended to date me. You're close to me because of my father's wealth, isn't that right!?"

"Sister," Miya looked into Maya's eyes as if she had just awakened from a dream that had been so neatly arranged by the handsome man who made her forget everything. "So he..."

"Hahahahahaha! You must have heard, Maya. I'm close to your sister because she's gentler than you. It's not about wealth!"

"Don't deny it!" Maya shouted with her famously shrill voice.

"Are you going to scold me?! Hah! You're not my mother, you're not Inaya. So don't scold me like that!" Mike shouted, then grabbed Miya's hand and pulled her away from the Winata family cafe that he had visited only a few minutes ago.

"Uh!" Ray and Yuki whispered at the same time as they realized the names behind all of Mike's atrocities against Maya.

"What?"

"Don't you hear that name being mentioned again?"

"Who, Ray?"

"Inaya! I'm sure she's behind your family's problems, May,"

Maya sighed heavily and shook her head as she walked towards the chair where she had ordered food.

"Why are you so down?" Ray sat next to Maya, followed by Yuki.

"I never agreed with Father's marriage to that witch, ever since they got married, we've been like stepchildren to my own biological father."

"Where did they meet?" Yuki became more curious.

"Inaya is actually still related to Mike. That's why when I graduated from high school, my father asked me to enter the university where I'm currently studying, which is still owned by Mike's relatives."

"Oh my God!"

Maya nodded before continuing her story. "That's where I, my sister, and Mike finally met. A meeting that was initially sweet but ended like this!"

"Don't be sad! I think your birth mother won't let this go on like this!"

"Oh, Ray! What do you know about my birth mother?"

"Wait! Birth mother? You still have a birth mother? Isn't it..."

"No! My birth mother is still alive. My father and mother divorced when I was in junior high, and my mother returned to Bali because she couldn't bear the pressure from my father's family who didn't want to lose their wealth."

"Complicated!" Yuki sighed and then looked down. "I'm sorry for your family's life, which apparently isn't as beautiful as it seems."

"Thank you. I know this isn't easy, but I hope my mother and I can meet again and..."

"Why don't you just look for your birth mother and live with her?" Yuki interrupted, starting to act like she knew it all.

"It's not that easy, Yuki. My father and mother are enemies because of wealth. That's why my sister and I can't easily meet the woman who gave birth to me,"

Ray and Yuki sighed together and then looked at Maya's face, which seemed to lose enthusiasm for her life.

When Maya seemed to lose her spirit, a waiter appeared from the kitchen carrying a large plate of steak they had ordered.

"Okay, let's think about that later. Your father is being taken care of by the right people now, and it's time for you to eat," Ray said, inviting the waiter to serve Maya's order.

"Excuse me, Miss. We apologize for the late processing of your order. We were busy with stocktaking in the back," said the waiter, a man dressed all in black who came in with his hands full of plates.

"Yes, it's okay. I know it's the end of the month, so you guys are busy in the back,"

"But this is all your order, Miss. It's all here," he added.

"Thank goodness!"

"Let's eat!" Ray cheered happily.

"Yes, I hope this food will cheer me up again,"

"Let's eat!" Yuki grabbed a spoon, ready to enjoy her lunch.

They finally forgot for a moment the problems that had just occurred and enjoyed the delicious food served so neatly on the plates.

Maya's eyes, which had seemed spiritless, shone again, not only because of the delicious food from her family's cafe but also because she finally knew who her best friend in life was.

"Miss!" shouted an old man who quickly entered the cafe.

"Who is he?" Ray asked in a whisper.

"Ah! Inaya's right-hand man, he must have come to ask for a share!" Maya said sharply and stared at the old man.

"You forgot to pay the token! Here! A lot!" The old man handed over a piece of paper containing a series of numbers that Mr. Winata's eldest son had not yet had time to handle.

"Ugh! This is still dated the 25th. There's still the 26th, right?!"

"But because of this delay, we'll have a problem. We'll be fined a considerable amount. You're careless, unreliable!"

"Oh my God!" Ray, who had been busy with his food, immediately shifted his gaze to the chubby older man whose belly was so big that his belt was almost breaking to hold up his ample stomach.

"Why are you? Don't you like me scolding this slow woman?"

"Uh, she's a young lady. You shouldn't scold her,"

"Who are you anyway?" the old man asked again.

"I'm her boyfriend! What's it to you?" Ray added, making Maya's eyes widen.

"Oh! You! Do you have another girlfriend now?"

"Ray! What are you saying!" Maya was annoyed and couldn't accept it.

"Is he your boyfriend?" The older man couldn't believe it.

"He..." Maya swallowed her saliva.
