Lake was fully recovered the next morning but his mood was gloomy, Davian would be leaving the next morning for the conference, and he still hadn't been able to convince the Alpha to take him along.

They would be having dinner with Lauren that evening, because Davian had to leave, and so did Lauren.

He didn't even bother with dressing up like he usually did, wearing a cozy sweatshirt instead of his usual go-to. Fortunately, there wouldn't be any meetings or events today, and he just had to deal with a few clients and call it a day.

Lake ignored Davian's look of concern, unless the Alpha had changed his mind about taking him, he didn't want the comfort.

He sighed as Davian drove them out of the mansion gates. Breakfast had been delicious, not only was Davian leaving but he wouldn't be able to eat the Alpha's cooking for nearly a week.
