243. Storm

After May's Silcoon evolved into a Beautifly, Professor Birch returned back to Littleroot Town that same day, meaning the long adventure of Ash and his party on Dewford Island also came to an end.

It was now time to embark on a new journey again.

Now the heads styles of Ash and May are very interesting. Beautifly likes to sit on top of May's head, as if she is wearing a huge butterfly decoration on her head.

She is starting to train her Beautifly to use Gust to stop or spin several pink Frisbees in the air. This is actually a very common way to show off the contestants Pokémon's charms and skills in the first Contest Round.

Ralts, which had been lying on Ash's head before, has finally grown strong enough and now she was ready to start her own training. Now it prefers to stand on Ash's shoulders with Pikachu, one on each side, never leaving it other than when eating or training.

After their breakfast, the group had already begun to dismantle their tents, pack their bags, and prepare to return to Dewford Town and head to Slateport City from the dock. However, they did not expect that there would be guests visiting them at the same time.

A beautiful young girl with a blue ponytail, came to the inner bay while surfing where Ash and his party were gathering their things. After landing, she pointed at Ash and said, "You, the handsome guy with the cap, are you Ash Ketchum?"

"I am?" Ash said with a questioning smile.

"I am known far and wide as Battle Girl Shauna! I am Gym Leader Brawly's number one disciple!" This self-introduction left the group of four a little astonished, but her next words made them smile again, "Ash, I heard that you I defeated Master Brawly and got the Knuckle Badge, come and fight me! I want to see if you're truly deserving of that Badge!"

Ash will never refuse an invitation to battle, especially not when it is perfect to see how his training is doing.

"Come on then, Corphish, stand by for battle!" Ash's Corphish has become much more obedient and well-behaved recently after Pikachu talked with him.

Ash also took him to train with May's Beautifly to practice in how to control his own strength. Now he can even beat May and her Beautifly without needing Ash to command him around.

But this time, after her came out, it looked around, as if he felt something.

Ash looked up at the clouds in the sky, and suddenly said in a deep tone, "Brock, May, pack your things quickly, we have to leave here immediately! Max, you are in charge of being the referee for this battle, let's make this battle a quick one. I don't have time to waste!!"

"Yes!"

No one in the group asked what was going to do. The tacit understanding formed by getting along for this amount time and their trust in Ash made them take action immediately after hearing him.

"Meditite, come out!" Shauna ignored all of this. Her Pokémon looked like a blue and white little monkey, and it also had the Fighting-type and Psychic-type combination.

Max stood between Ash and Shauna and announced the start of the battle!

"Meditite, use Focus Punch!" Ash was stunned for a moment when he heard this command. How could she use such a Fighting-type move that can be easily interrupted right away without any prior setup?

Focus Punch, a very powerful Fighting-type attack has a very bad downside to it, this requires the attacker to concentrate all on the punch. If they are attacked before they could reach that moment, it will be useless. In this kind of quick battle, Ash will of course choose to interrupt it before Meditite could even get ready.

"Use Bubble Beam!"

Corphish spit up a large number of bubbles from one of his the lobster claws, Meditite was attacked before he could even react to it. Being attacked made Meditite's Focus Punch being unable to be used. However, Ash's attack was still far from over.

"Next use Crabhammer!"

Corphish quickly approached and hit Meditite's white head with a forceful and heavy pliers!

"Meditite loses the ability to fight, meaning Corphish wins this battle, so the final winner of this battle!"

After the battle was won, Ash decisively took back his perfectly fine Corphish and took his backpack handed over by May, "We have to get out of here quickly!"

"ASH!" Brawlys voice came from the hillside, "Have you all packed your bags? Great, let's get out of here quickly!"

"I heard that you are here, so I immediately rushed here to inform you that a very large hurricane is about to hit this area! Such a small area by the sea will definitely be swallowed up by the waves in no time!"

Hearing this, Ash also nodded, "I noticed something was wrong with the weather, so we packed my things quickly before you came here. But I didn't expect it to be a such a bad hurricane!"

Brock also said, "I see, I also noticed that the Pokémon in the forest were moving very strangely away from here not long ago!"

"In short, it's very dangerous to be here right now. We need to take refuge in one of the safe place as soon as possible!"

The group quickly returned to the direction of Dewford Town, but the clouds in the sky turned dark almost instantly, and there were bright thunders everywhere!

"The hurricane came earlier than we had expected it yo! There is a cave ahead, let's go there to take shelter first before thinking of our next plan of action!" Brawly was very familiar with the island and made a prompt decision to lead everyone to cave on the higher side.

Ash had to say that this island was really full of caves. There was even a whole undiscovered ruin that worshipped Rayquaza hidden underneath the island.

"Big Bro, look, it's a Shroomish!" While running in the heavy rain, Max noticed that there were some small shivering Shroomish's huddled together in the bushes nearby. They probably didn't have enough time to escape form here, so they could only stay together and try to survive the crisis.

This is the terrible power that comes with nature!

Shauna squatted down beside them and said gently, "It's okay now. Come with us to the cave for safety!"

Seeing that many little Pokémon's were unable to escape from the area, the group had to slow down their pace so they could take various Pokémon into the team along the way.

Shroomish, Wingull, Rattata, Seedot, etc.

It was only supposed to be a ten minutes run away to the cave, but they needed a full hour before they finally reached their cave. The inner bay where they were originally had already turned into a part of the sea.

The cave here was spacious enough to accommodate them and the many Pokémon's they had with them. Brock lit up a fire. In the light of the fire, the Pokémon's were finally able to settle down for now.

Ash hugged his little Ralts, who was playing with his ears, and took out the Green Flute he found from the ruins.

"Big Bro, do you know how to play that thing at all?" Max has been curious about this flute ever since Ash took it out from the ruins.

However, Ash shook his head in a no, "These kind of items have to be used in the right place for them to actually work."

"Brother!"

Max suddenly screamed. Ash was just about to give him an iron fist of love because of his scream when he turned around and noticed that he was pointing at his backpack in a daze.

It turns out that the backpack was emitting a bright red light.

"Is it finally going to hatch now?" Everyone quickly gathered around Ash's Pokémon Egg.

Ash quickly took out his Pokémon Egg before it could hatch inside of the bag. Ash was obviously the one who was most looking forward to seeing what kind Pokémon was going to hatch from here.

But in fact, Brock already knew the answer, as he was the one who sent the Pokémon Egg to Ash. Before leaving, Professor Oak also introduced the origin of the Pokémon Egg to him. He will only convey it to Ash after it hatches.

The extraordinary bright red hatching light was enough to prove the power of this little guy. The red light wad somehow getting even stronger and stronger, making them unable to open their eyes.

"Woof!"

From the light, the sound of a dogs barks could be heard.

Ash immediately understood what Pokémon this was.

His long-awaited Growlithe! The Growlithe he had longed for but never had the chance to catch was now hatched by him.

Ralts seemed to have sensed a special breath from the Egg, so she jumped from Ash's arms to the top of its head in a flash.

This little Growlithe was very close to Ash as she was already lying in Ash's arms and licked his face again and again!

"Wow, it's so cute!" May and Shauna said in unison.

Growlithe was known to be very smart, loyal, brave, and reliable. It will faithfully obey the instructions of its Trainer and can fight against opponents who are stronger and bigger than itself without any sort of fear. This is why they are the most suitable Pokémon to be a police dog.

In the Kanto Region and in most places around the world, the Jenny Family has the best place for Growlithe's to breed; this is just like the Dragon's Den in Blackthorn City, which has the best Dratini breeding spot.

"Ash, this Growlithe is the descendant of an extremely strong Arcanine, the best Arcanine of the Jenny Family." He said in a very proud voice.

"When Professor Oak heard that she had laid an Egg, he spent a lot of effort and connection to trimy his best to get this Pokémon Egg from the Jenny Family as soon as possible. After hearing that this Egg was going to be trained by you, they almost immediately agreed to Professor Oak's request."

Finally, Brock had the opportunity to tell Ash the secret he had concealed all the way.

"Professor Oak really is such a thoughtful person." Ash was very happy to be finally train up one of his favorite Pokémon's of all time.
