{Dropped. Read Lord of Doom, highly recommended,  it's my current read now}

Michael was a teenager who had lost everything to the war against the vicious Makisis - his entire family, all of his friends (not that he had many to begin with), and his sense of purpose were all gone. 

At the brink of death, he thought he had lost all hope. With everything that mattered to him gone, there was nothing left to live for. 

However, a mysterious system appeared, offering him quests and missions to level up. He was hesitant for his hope to return but he listened to the system anyway, having no other options. 

To his disbelief, he began to get stronger than he ever thought was possible. Yet the power came with a steep price. He could tell he was changing into something more sinister, driven by an insatiable hunger for blood.

It was a system that derived power from blood - a vampire system.

Blood Monarch System

Michael and Zion, his red Blood dragon, targeted the high-grade beasts. Zion's Blood scales struck a Grade 9 beast, tearing its body apart and causing fatal lacerations. Michael leaped into the air, forming a blood Mallet and slamming it onto a beast's head, shattering its skull. Blood spikes pierced another beast from inside. Zion unleashed a wave of Blood scales, striking another Grade 8 beast. They immediately killed all the high-grade beasts, leaving Michael tired.

The swan of beasts stopped coming, making it easier to kill the rest. They all fell to the ground, exhausted. The system screen appeared as Michael lay on the bloodied ground.
