134 - From the ashes

The last part of Dinaia's words made Evelyn show a face saying that she expected that. Her smile had some amusement, as she asked:

"That is the true reason for your call, isn't it?"

But the blonde seemed offended:

"How can you say that? I really worry about you. It's just that with your dark knight, what could have gone wrong last night? You don't need me to worry about you, so spit the gossip out."

Evelyn laughed this time, shaking her head at her shameless sister who was using a distorted but sound logic to mask her true intention.

"There is nothing to say. If that is all, I will hang up. I'm busy."

"Sheesh, Eve, is this how you treat your sister? I was just joking with you. Am I really the kind of person to only live for gossip?"

Evelyn rolled her eyes, and spoke against her heart:

"I know you are not that kind of person. So, did you reach home safely yesterday? What about Daemon's car?"
