But can what has been forsaken be gained back? Because now Evelyn, the one to have breathed vitality in his numb, orphaned heart, had her own life, and a little boy calling her mother. And while he left his life full of dead bodies behind, did that life really let him go?

Dinaia rolled her eyes at her friend's words:

"I hope that you did not say that in front of Daemon. He is your fiance now, and I have to remind you that you have been waiting for him for years. You know that Connel has always had feelings for you. It wouldn't be a surprise if Daemon is the reason why he has been avoiding us, or you, in particular."

Evelyn turned quiet, recalling the conversation she had chanced upon. She bit her lips, feeling a little torn inside.

Dinaia looked at the spectacle, then sighed:

"Alright, I will ask for you later. If someone should know something, it would be Ryan."

Evelyn gave her blonde friend a look of gratitude:

"Don't mention it. Just, don't mess up your priorities. Daemon is back now, and everything is going for the best, with Jason having a father. You are even about to be married. Don't lose focus on what you have for what is not important."
