A few days later, a new bombshell was dropped into the media. It raised the waves about corruption among officials to greater heights, implicating Michael Harsh whose career had been in a lull for a while already.

Cynthia watched everything on her phone, her face struggling to decide on the expression to make, or to show. She fell into a short moment of daze, before she shook herself awake, and she forced the matter to the side.

A small part of her was happy that her father's secrets had spread around, setting the stage for his life to fall apart with little to no possibility of seeing the light of hope. But it was only a small part, not the part of her that wanted to ignore and forget him, not the part that was seeking a new life. After all, in her heart, she had no father anymore.

Cynthia closed the news report and put her phone away. She walked into the ward she had been going toward before her friends had tagged her with the news.
