It demanded no attachment, and Daemon sacrificed love for it. Years later, the death of his teammates made him feel that he had done enough for the country, so he came back to the city he grew in. But can what has been forsaken be gained back? Because now Evelyn, the one to have breathed vitality in his numb, orphaned heart, had her own life, and a little boy calling her mother. And while he left his life full of dead bodies behind, did that life really let him go?

From the ashes, will it love or...?

Love from the ashes

Daemon looked at the image of the outside displayed on the monitor silently. He looked back at the stairs, before he opened the door and went to the gate. He opened it, and let the man who he had seen holding flowers from the monitor. The latter, seeing him, immediately faced him with a smile, along with some well-placed embarrassment.

"What are you doing here, Lumian?"

It was indeed Evelyn's younger brother outside of the gate, standing there with a smile, a pinch of embarrassment one would feel when disturbing someone, and a bouquet of flowers.

Lumian's smile turned a little less natural, as he looked at Daemon while also trying to take a look behind him. He took a breath for a better composure, before he continued speaking:

"I came to see Evelyn, I came to see my sister."
