Daemon's SUV moved along with the rest of the cars in the traffic. It looked just like usual, though, only if seen from outside. Inside, however, the glowing joy of the driver formed a sharp contrast with the quiet of the passenger beside her.
The difference was so stark that Evelyn turned to the dark red-haired woman, and pulled the latter's attention over from the scenery outside with her question:
"Jennifer, is everything alright? Is something bothering you?"
Jennifer pulled herself back from wherever her mind had flown to, and she shook her head, displaying a quiet smile:
"It's nothing, Evelyn. Don't worry about me."
Evelyn looked at her companion for this trip home for a while, then nodded, her smile turning gentle, regaining the glow from earlier:
"Then I won't say much. But if anything is bothering you, don't hesitate to let me know. Even if I cannot help, there is still Daemon."
