Marcus entered his chambers, the heavy door closing with a thud behind him. The room was a stark contrast to the grandeur of The Assembly hall, filled with a mix of old tomes and antique furniture. He sank into a worn leather chair, his mind racing with the day's events.

Constantine St. John. The name echoed in his thoughts. He would've been his newest student - perhaps his last. He was in good hands with Damien though. He would prefer to train Jane instead but that was forbidden between family members, so Darryl had become her master - much to her chagrin. He had to changed the Assembly's opinion of Constantine. Problem is, they weren't completely wrong; as much as he was a potential asset, he was also a liability in their eyes. Marcus knew that convincing the Elders of Constantine's worth without breaking the rules would be a delicate balancing act.
