Shifting Gears

Constantine leaned against the doorway of the workshop, watching Shift intently. She was hunched over her workbench, tools and materials scattered around her in organized chaos. Her brow was furrowed in concentration as she carefully inscribed intricate runes onto a small metallic object.

"Shift, what are you working on?" Constantine asked, curiosity evident in his voice.

Shift glanced up briefly, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Nothing you need to worry about, Constantine."

Constantine smirked. "Come on, you can't leave me in the dark. Spill the beans."

Shift shook her head, returning to her work. "You'll see soon enough. Just be patient."

Constantine sighed, stepping into the room. He watched as Shift meticulously worked on the object, her hands moving with precision and care. He had seen her create countless gadgets and devices before, each one more impressive than the last. But this time, she was being unusually secretive.
