The days went by peacefully. Alex started working in the café. Mitch was a very patient teacher, she helped Alex and taught him what to do. Alex was a very fast learner, he picked up quick and so far was very liked by the costumers. He was really happy. He liked going to work. At night he would rub over his belly and imagined what the baby would be like. He could already feel it, his stomach was making a little bump already. Not noticeable to the naked eye but he knew.
Sam was already busy talking about baby things. She was going crazy with it. Mitch was worried that Sam might say she wants one to, she knew they weren't ready for that step. Alex was just happy to have them in his life.
He still had a lingering feeling that Brad might find him, he was scared. He tried to go unnoticed as much as possible.
One night after work, Alex had just gotten out of the shower, dressed in an oversized t-shirt en shorts headed to the kitchen, he heard a knock on the door . Instantly alert, he asked in a quiet voice, " Who is it?"
" It's me Alex," came Sam's musical voice.
Alex let out a relieved sigh and opend the door. He smiled at Sam as she walked in. Sam knew there was something wrong, he looked a little pale, she was immediately worried. Pregnancies can be hard, especially for males omegas.
He led her to the living room and sat down next to her. She took his hand in hers and asked with worry in her voice.
"Are you okay? You look pale."
He shook his head, but before he could say anything she added, " You know, if you need anything, or you don't feel right, you just have to call?"
"I know, and really I'm fine. I didn't mean to act wierd. I still have to get used to living on my own," he gave her a reassuring smile. "Did you need anything?" he asked
Remembering why she was here, she smiled and pointed at the bags she brought, Alex hadn't even noticed. She started unpacking, surprising Alex with the amount of baby thing she had in there. He hadn't even thought about that yet. Noticing Alex's face, she smiled.
"What do you think? I couldn't help myself," she smiled brightly. "I walked past a baby boutique on the home and I just had to go in and look."
Alex's yes watered, he really hit the jackpot with friends. He smiled looking through everything, there were clothes, socks, little booties and blankets, everything a baby could need, was there. He didn't know what to say.
" Thanks Sam, with everything going on I didn't even think of any of this," Alex said. As if realizing something he added, "What's Mitch going to say. She already thinks your gonna have baby fever."
"So it's not like I'm gonna jump her or something. Whats wrong with spoiling our god child?" she gave him a smile.
Alex was speechless, he did think about it, but didn't know how to ask.
"You guys really want to?" Alex asked softly.
"Yes, Mitch and I talked about it. If you're okay with us, we'll be more than happy to." she answered.
Without saying anything, Alex hugged her tightly. They looked at eachother and smiled, sorting through the clothes 'oohing' and 'aawing at everything. They chatted for a while longer, after an hour, Sam got a call from Mitch wanting to know where she was.
Alex walked her to the door, he hugged her tight again, when he pulled away he said, "Thank you for everything you guys are doing for us," he put his hand on his belly.
Sam put her hand over his, "We're happy to be doing it, Alex. Really. You're part of the family now. And we love you," she smiled and added, " both of you."
Alex watched her walk away before heading back inside. He looked at the baby things and smiled. He really was going to have you look into that. He put everything away and lay on the bed. His thoughts running around. He was going to make sure they were happy. With that thought Alex drifted off to sleep with his hand on his belly.
