"Do you know where the island was?" Ana demanded as Yorgan began pulling on a few wall maps until he found one that she realized was supposed to be the original game world.
Yorgan and Ana wanted her to use it to pinpoint the location of the islands, but as Bree looked at the very inaccurate map she felt slightly insulted at how bad it was.
The City portion had somehow ended up in the center, the Volcanic section was missing entirely, and both The Forest and Snowy areas had seemingly been folded into each other and surrounded the entire city save for a section that she assumed was supposed to be the Moutnian at the continents Center, now shoved off to the westernmost side of the landmass, as though it had been added last moment.
She immediately reached into her inventory, and after some rooting around she pulled out a large rolled-up piece of parchment, and handed it to Yorgan.
"You can dispose of that," She told him, pointing to the wall map, "This is an actual proper map of the continent, prior to the meteor,"
Yorgan unrolled the map, instead of just a map of the continent it was a collectible item from an old event that included the locations of all the spawn islands in the world, there were three clusters of islands, each representing when the race dropped, the original eight on the right that included the beta races and the ones added at launch, the second wave of seven to the right, and the final three to the top.
"Over to the right," Bree pointed to the cluster of islands, "I don't remember which one it was exactly, I was born Human and ascended to an Elf via hard work," Yorgan and Ana began fawning over the map.
"City names," Yorgan muttered, "Landmarks, is that a Volcano?" After looking around the map Yorgan pointed to one of twelve different colored circles that dotted the map, "What are these?" he asked curiously, "Small towns maybe?"
"Oh that's the location of the twelve Pillars of eternity, I didn't wanna lose my..." Bree's absent-minded answer slowly trailed off before she straitening up, remembering the Church of Salvo and what they might do for a map to their desired Pillar, "Opps," she chuckled as she reached into her inventory and pulled out the actual map, having handed off the one she had copied and drawn on since the Pillars didn't show up on the mini-map or the built in-game map, "Wrong map, that's my back up copy I've doodled all over," Bree swapped them out and returned her's to her inventory, "Don't tell anyone about that ok,"
"You know where the Pillars of eternity are?" Yorgan asked in shock, Bree was at least relieved he didn't seem shocked they existed or that there were twelve of them, "That's amazing, is it true they act as prisons for some of the strongest monsters in existence,"
"Yup," Bree confirmed, "and there's a good chance that if one was opened nowadays not even all the Demon Lords combined could stop it, so don't tell anyone I know where they are, don't wanna cause a mass extinction event now do we?" Bree laughed nervously, "But no seriously a lot of people will die,"
"I won't tell a soul," Ana promised, "And I'll give Yorgan a good chomp if he does,"
"Because between the two of us, I'm the most likely one to let it slip?" Yorgan eyed Ana who immediately changed the subject.
"Do you think I could see your race-changing machine?" Bree looked her up and down before answering.
"You're already perfect the way you are, what could you possibly want to change yourself into?" Bree had a suspicion as to what Ana's dream was and wasn't at all shocked to see she was right on the money.
"I could finally be big," She said in excitement, "You said it turned a horse into a human horse, maybe if I went as a Beast-woman, I'd just come out a better version of a Beast-woman, I could finally reach the top shelf without having to climb up the wall,"
"Well I'm sorry," Bree patted Ana softly atop her head, "But I'm the only one who can activate it, and you have to be willing to agree to work beneath me since I need total control of one's soul for it to work, and I get the sense you're rather fond of your job,"
"Yeah," Ana agreed, deflating slightly before suddenly perking up, "Oh, but there have been talks of cutback starting next year, and I might be on the cutting block, so if it comes to pass that my employee is terminated would you-"
"By all means feel free to come and join me in Melodia," Bree accepted her counteroffer without any hesitation, "I'll have you double the height within the day, and I'll even let you work under that Harpy I told you about, She's my librarian, and my collection is as old as it is big,"
"Back up job," Ana cheered, "And you said I should be worried about the school's talk of cutbacks," Ana stuck her tongue out at Yorgan who just shook his head.
"I was worried because I'd have to do your class on top of my class without any extra pay," Yorgan huffed, "Anyway I thank you for the map, I have a few adventurer acquaintances and I think they'd be willing to help foot some of the bills, an exploration looking into the island of the elves has a high chance to be profitable,"
"Well I'm glad I could offer the both of you something for letting me cut into your lecture," Bree continued patting Ana's head, who seemed thrilled at them being so readily handed out, "But I still don't know the exact plans for the lecture, so maybe we should get to business?"
"Oh yes of course," Yorgan rolled up his map, "Today's lecture is one ancient and forgotten Magics, As Ana specializes in Magical studies, and I in the ancient past we like to come together every year for the third years and tell them about the arts lost to time, but as with all things in the past, it is possible one day someone might dig up enough remnants of them to understand how they work, take for example the once lost art of Metal Magic, you see-"
Bree got comfortable patting Ana's head as Yorgan delved into a very detailed and long lecture on how metal-based Magic was theorized to have been lost, and how it was eventually found, and reintegrated into the world.
