Chapter 115

Aimee's POV

I stood at the edge of the clearing, my heart pounding in my chest as I looked out at James's packhouse. The dense forest that surrounded it was unusually quiet, as if even the trees and the creatures that lived among them were holding their breath. Something was wrong—I could feel it in my bones.

Beside me, Vincent shifted uneasily, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the area. His wolf, Orion, was restless, pacing just beneath the surface of his skin. I could sense the tension in Vincent's posture, the way his muscles were coiled tight, ready to spring into action at any moment.

"Aimee," Vincent said quietly, his voice laced with concern. "Something's not right."

I nodded, already feeling the weight of his words. "I know. I can feel it too."

Vincent's gaze remained fixed on the packhouse, his jaw clenched. "Orion is picking up on something…dark. The aura here—it's too strong. I can't reach James's wolf."
