The ministers trembled as Alex walked out of his room, they bowed their heads down, afraid to look into Alex's eyes.
Alex cared less about them and called an urgent meeting with the ministers to address the decisions that made him restless; he pondered why they would replace the village head and appoint Asher.
Alex knew the ministers don't have the balls to go against him. Alex took long strides to the hall where they had their meetings.
The ministers rushed to the hall and endeavored to get to the hall before Alex and it has been the rule for years that no minister should get to the hall whenever the king is in the hall.
Alex sat on his throne, scrutinizing their faces. The ministers were nervous under Alex's scrutiny; Alex smirked and said with a hoarse voice,
"How dare you all, who do you think I am? A fool?" Alex paused to calm himself and continued his words, "I am the highest authority here, how come there is a replacement in the village head without my notice? And you have the audacity to propose an approval letter before me."
Alex clenched his fist, he boiled in anger, the ministers shook, terrified of his wrath that could befall them.
"WHO IS IT? WHO DARES TO DO THIS?" Alex roared out, standing up from his seat.
The ministers moved backwards and murmured to each other. Alex angrily drew out a sword from his guard beside him.
The ministers eyes widened in shock, they kept murmuring without answering his question,
"Quiet!!! That's enough, Are you all dumb? You can't answer my question but you could appoint someone without my approval. If no one talk, then you will all be decapitated"
Camen rushed to Alex's,
"My king, why are you doing this? This is unlike you. Please don't do this…"
"Camen, No more words. Can't you see how muted they are, they couldn't talk now but they could appoint someone without my permission and because of their decision my woman is mated to him"
"What! Don't tell me this is all because of that unknown beauty, my king, please stop all this, please"
"Not another word, Get out now!"
Camen hesitantly obeyed and left Alex's side; Alex breathed out and continued his hunt, he passed every minister pointing the sword at their necks and questioned them.
Alex chuckled as he noticed the ministers shivering but he got worried that no one could speak out, then he came to a conclusion,
"I think I should start the decapitation, I will start from you" Alex uttered, placing the sword at the minister's neck.
The minister knelt down pleading,
"Pleasee, sire, we can't tell you this. Only the mastermind has the right to reveal himself to you. Pleaaseee, spare me"
Alex smirked and raised his sword up, attempting to decapitate the minister. As soon as the sword was brought down; a voice stopped his movement,
"STOP IT PLEASE! This is unlike you my king. I gave the orders" Amarynthia said as she moved closer to the Lycan king.
Alex brought his sword down and laughed sarcastically, he moved to her and placed the sword at her neck.
Camen eyes widened and he bellowed,
"NO! Don't do that, my king. That's the sorceress, you"
Amarynthia held her hand to cut off Camen's words. She bowed her head and instructed the king to put his sword down.
With her piercing gaze and aura of wisdom, calmly explained to Alex that the recent events that caused him unrest were not mere human decisions.
She claimed the decisions were guided by the will of the moon goddess and she instructed everyone to keep mute without relaying the message to him.
"The moon goddess knows you won't approve of Asher's appointment, so I had to keep this secret and disclaim it to you after a while… my king, Asher was appointed for a reason, but the reason remains a secret to everyone" Amarynthia exclaimed, waiting patiently for Alex to get calm.
Alex drew his sword back and dropped it. Out of frustration, he drove his hand into his hair. He felt betrayed by the goddess he had worshiped his whole life.
In a moment of reckless defiance, Alex denounced the goddess and stormed out of the hall, leaving Amarynthia and the ministers shocked.
But Amarynthia followed him outside and warned him of the consequences of his actions,
"The goddess is not to be trifled with, Alex" Amarynthia enunciated, her eyes flashing with a stern warning. "She is not only a source of power but also a force of balance. If you continue this way, you might risk involving the goddess wrath"
"Fine, I apologize. I will do anything not to invoke her wrath. Is that okay?" Alex asked, getting frustrated.
Amarynthia breathed out and assured the Lycan king that the goddess has her reason and he would see the outcome of it.
"In return, prepare for the uninvited guest, my king"
"Uninvited guest? Who is that?"
"I can't tell you now, you've got to find that out yourself " Amarynthia bowed her head and left.
Alex was confused, he wondered who the uninvited guest was, he disliked suspense and things he isn't aware of.
Camen rushed to Alex, bringing him out of his train of thoughts. Alex rolled his eyes when he saw Camen, he wasn't ready for Camen pleads and words.
"Camen, what do you want? I know it was bad of me to abuse the goddess. I apologized to her. Is that okay?" Alex said with an uninterested look. "But, Amarynthia said there would be an uninvited guest, who do you think that is?"
Camen smiled and apologized for the remarks he gave in the hall, then Camen processed Alex's words and his curiosity piqued him.
"Uninvited guest? I can't seem to figure out the person." Camen said, itching his head.
Camen pondered hard, curious to know the person. Alex giggled as he saw Camen, pondering on his words,
"Don't worry, Camen. Let's go. Amarynthia said she will inform me later"
Alex turned to leave,
"Wait, wait! Uninvited guest! Oh no, I think it must be her" Camen blurted out, staring into Alex's eyes.
