It Never Stays Quiet.

By a streak of luck she had been able to avoid getting caught by the councilman on that day. It was after that she had begun to question why her first response had been to withdraw back in fear. It wasn't her who was in the wrong, as a matter of a fact her position was one where the case should have been the opposite. They should be startled by her presence, and not the other way round.

She watched as the small black snake, the size of her palm glide down through the stone walls behind her window, through the thick shrubs and finally sunk into a dirt hole. It was one of her serpent's eggs which had crawled out of her mouth while she was locked up inside the bathroom.
